I honestly dont care about gamestop. I usually go to best buy cause i always have gift cards to use up or I go onto amazon.com for cheaper deals if there are any.
F*CK Gamestop! Rude employees who try to be know-it-alls even after you prove them wrong. HORRIBLE trade in values for games and even worse for finding accessories. I have stopped shopping there (lest I get a GS giftcard) and have opted for Game Crazy, they have WAY better trade in values on games, the employees, while always trying to push strat guides on you, have always been courteous and they always hook me up with free game rentals from Hollywood Video. Game Crazy FTW!
i have no other choice but gamestop, i buy all my games used to save the 10 bucks on newer games, usually buy only when they are doing a buy 2 get 1 free deal unless i buy a new game that i had reserved. the only other game store is walmart, and it sucks lol. i also have no credit card to buy online (i'm 16)

ok no one is forcing you to trade in your games first off, and secondly do you expect them to not make a decent profit off of it? at GS at least you have the option to get games for less used when they work just as good used most off the time and if it doesnt you get a refund, im not saying this store is perfect but as for a gaming store it is th ebest out there , hands down

They are both owned by the same corporate entity, that doesn't mean that they are the same store.
the one by my new place is great cuz they are really helpful, have 2 hot chicks working there and are not MS fanboys (most of them own PS3's or both) they also know what they are talking about and know what you are talking about, the one by my old place was full of lame ass guys that thought they were the gods of information when infact they didnt know jack about anything, they would always make claims and then when you back up the truth that you knew they acted like they had no idea or that it must have been rumor or the info was just released so that is why they didnt know (when info was release 2-3 months prior)
so really its a mixed bag and some have bad experiences while others have great ones, i had both

I usually go there for trade in creditand used games. If its a new game i want its best buy or something else.

They dont sell stuff at a higher price, its the same price as any other retail store you go too. The only reason Ebay and Amazon is cheaper is they dont have the overhead expense so they can get away with slashing the prices.
their trade in offers are a complete rip off. I can get a brand new game at the same price of their used games on ebay. EBAY FTW.Valentino07
If you get the discount card you get a pretty good deal and really once you pay for S+H I dont see where you are saving that much money. Not to mention GS has a pretty good return policy for their used games, seeing how if you dont like it within 7 days you can take it back.
But I do agree about their trade in value... you might as well bend over and take it because thats what the are doing to you when you do trade business with them.

I hate Gamestop, but I still shop there sometimes. If it's a new title I'm willing to pay for New I don't care where I get it from. I'll also go into one of the bigger ones for Used games if I'm just looking for anything to see if I can get something cheap that I wasn't specifically looking for.

Unless you live in overseas all the EBs in the US will all soon be call Gamestop, and you will no longer see any EB Games.

Gamestop imo is a f**** horrible store, i rather go to best buy and get my moneys worth. the employees are all childish teens who dont know wtf is going on in gaming, except wut their bosses tell them, and their promotions, which, imo, suck, except for as said above, the buy 2 get one free. except for that, they have nothing going for them, theyre jsut the only name-brand video game franchise open in not-so convienient areas, for me at least. Best buy is the place to go. =D
I like a little fanboyish argument. I go through it everyday with the fedex guy who delivers at my job, hes also friends with the gamestop manager by here. They both are huge ms lovers. Eitherway the fedex dude is now playing lots of ps3 games due to me. When i was buying ut3 3 employees started jumbling nonsence at me about the ps3 and i fired back with pretty good arguments. The store is good i run in there to get my fix of vid games when im bored at work. Ill just play by the stations tho.
I don't really care man, as long as it sells the game at the store ill probably buy it. I've also noticed, that atleast in my area, the people who work at EBgames are much more mature and you can actually get into a good conversation with them about something and they arent fanboys at all. Gamestop on the other hand keep pushing me to buy a 360 even though i already have one and am selling it to someone else =/
