I have only tried to get online once and lagged all over the place. I am sticking to single player for the minute and waiting until the patch or do something will the multiplayer.
The competitive modes were fun, but playing with a disadvantage by having less players on my team so frequently was really annoying. It's nearly impossible to win at the bag grabbing game (basically CTF) when it's 3 vs. 4. Then I played a TDM where the other team just camped in a building the whole time...we won, but it was annoying since they were not doing anything but sitting in a building.
The Free Roam is where this game shines. I have so much fun in private FR with my firends doing the ambient challenges or gang hideouts, etc.
I think it's pretty solid. I've experienced absolutely no lags at all. I still don't quite understand the whole posse thing. The "free roam" mode is the actual lobby, so this is the location where you choose what it is you would like to do. Thing is I was walking around and got a posse invite. Once I agreed, I saw myself figinting enemies in their hideouts while securing a cart with what seems to be treasure. What confuses me is that on your map, you still see both, players that are in your posse and other players which seem to be in free roam. Can the free roam guys ever interfere with a mission? This is what got me lost.
