i got 2k9 for my bday to its a good game to me but i think you should get skate 2
If you are a fan of shooters, Resistance 2 is awesome. The stroy isn't the greatest, but definately enough to keep you playing. The online co-op is amazing though. I haven't been able to put it down since i got it.

I think the Resistance series is what you are looking for, but in my opinion is better the online gaming than the story. The best shooters in single player story for me are the Orange Box and Bioshock!!!
