What game do you think will show off what the PS3 can really do? I searched the forums and these games are the most talked about and most highly antisapated. From what i have seen so far from these games, I will have to go with MGS4. But as more information is being released, my oppion could possibly change later on. All we can really do is wait and see.

Judging from the Motorstorm demos, that game simply won't showcase the PS3s true power. The first game to give people the kind of *omg wow* factor that Gears of War had on the 360 will likely be Final Fantasy XIII. It's not good enough to simply look as good as the best games out there, you really have to go above and beyond, something only FF XIII is going to be able to do, at least graphically anyway.
Hmmm. None of the above. It will probably take about 3 years into the PS3 to see the potential at it's fullest (if any delvelopers can reach that potential) But MGS4 and KillZone will "what the PS3 can really do"

Star Wars is multiplat, so it will never be as good as an exclusive, unless they dedicate lots of time to porting it.

Um they are not the only ones doing that; MGS, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and so on are also using these 3'rd party licensed tools. Uncharted should have been an option on that list.
I say Killzone 2. Just because they are part of SONY and they know how PS3 works. Just by looking in to the past games on PS2 made by SONY internal studios had that edge in overall looks. But some 3rd party developed games came close to that and even surpassed that at some point.
That was too difficult of a decision so I just chose Devil May Cry 4, since that is my favorite out of the selection.. But Im not sure, in a way I think it may be a game that comes out later in the future, that is if they make a game that can push the ps3 to its potentialÂ
KILLZONE! I think it will reach the E3 05 standard considering they've kept it quiet for so long and they have so many ppl working on it and all the time and money they've spent on it. I think this will be the game that shows what the PS3 can REALLY DO!
killzone 2. sony had set the bar so high for this game. if it even comes close to the demo they showed it would be good. i think mgs4 would have a chance to also, just based on how mgs2 and 3 was. they really pushed the ps2 and both were great games.
i just realized. the ps3 has some killer exclusives on their hands. looking at that list and not being able to pick one since all of them are imo going to look better then anything the 360 can handle. i know i know, the 360 has gears but seriously the game isnt showing u the world is it? its just putting you in a map that they spent extensive time to make. thus it only shows u your near surrounding which are graphically surperb-looking but leaves u wanting to "see" more. i
Having played the DMC4 demo that was shown at September's TGS, I would say that Capcom have ALOT of work to do on that game before it becomes a game that "shows what the PS3 can do" because at the stage of development that demo is from, it had rather crappy graphics that would have been embarrasing next to a big 360 title.Â
I think MGS4 and FFXIII will show off the PS3 the most early on and obviously it will get better and better from then on. I also think Ninja Gaiden Sigma should be in that list as it looks pretty damn awesome.
LOL you just contradicted yourself.. I voted killzone, because their demo had the most lasting impression on me. There's a demo for Killzone out? Do you have to pay for it?
Most likely MGS4 or FF13. Although I voted for MGS4 (heh), I really think Square Enix will bring out the best in the system. They usually do, and unlike Kojima, Square knows how to smoothly run a game (it seems like FF12 had a much smoother framerate than MGS3: Snake Eater). Yes, they're different games, but it just goes to show how SE knows how to make a game just so its framerate is silky smooth. It shows their expertise in the technology at hand.Â
Killzone 2 all the way. they pushed the ps2 graphics farther than the system could handle...this system can handle a lot. they dont have to worry about a thing.
I think that game is out already. And it's none of the games on your poll, In my opinion the game that show cases the ps3 is gthd. It's a beutiful game runs smooth and has lifelike car models. That's the best graphical game we'll see in a long time.
In terms of both physics and graphics, it should be MGS4. Kojima pushed the PS2 to its limits with MGS2 after only one year of the console release. Final battle in MGS3 seemed impossible to do, im sure some of you would agree. But that being said, i know Square-Enix would also push it, but only in terms of graphics.
I voted for FF XIII for a few reasons: Square does know how to run they're game at a smoother frame rate, but look how much DEVELOPMENT TIME they have between they're titles. I would've voted for MGS4 which I think is going to be a monster on a graphical, and real-time engine burner for the PS3, but FF XIII will be put out at a LATER TIME than MGS4. Obviously games that come out at a later period will tend to look better, and coming from a company like Square it shouldn't be any wonder. Now in the subject of Killzone 2...that's a tough one. I didn't vote for it as far as graphics are concerned? Because I believe that Guerilla can produce at least 80 percent of what they showed in that trailer for what time and money they have to create the game (they said it'll be around 2008 before it comes out), yet with particle effects and all that other stuff going on in the background running at real time at the same frame rate, it'll be a very very very close second place to FF XII. If Guerilla can pull it off in Killzone 2, I'll change my mind. But until then I'm sticking with FF XIII. With Devil May Cry 4 and Motorstorm, they're game positions don't call for a lot of pushing for the PS3. For instance if you all seen the DMC4 trailer Dante's hair is realistic, but when he falls down from the ceiling (glass breaking as it should of course), his hair seems to be matted to his head. That tells me they didn't use many layers as far as movement for lord knows how many blocks to compose 8 strands of hair, wind effect ect., so the PS3 doesn't have anything to worry about. Now we haven't mentioned anything about...Gran Turismo. I'd put more money on Gran Turismo than Motorstorm.
I would say killzone 2 if they released a trailer that had real gameplay with graphics similar to the original trailer, but since that isn't the case I would have to go with FFXIII. Currently that game is the best looking console game in development by far. You should also put in lair because the new shots of that game look insane.
