I can't really find much in the way of release schedules for the Vita or what developers are currently working on? Where is the best place to look for such information? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I intend to get one next month.

Yeah I would double my anticipation list if I were to include SCEJ games that were not even announced for localization here or EU.

I still can't believe Ken Levine is working on something. I had forgotten about that. He said in an interview that he didn't want to talk about it, since he had nothing to show yet, but Sony told him to tell the crowd at E3 that he was doing something for Vita. To increase hype, I guess. There aren't a whole lot of names bigger that Ken Levine's in gaming right now.

Replace Activision with Crapcom and I'm good. Anyway, more games need to come out, and fast. I'm sorta bored with the 3 I'll be stuck with for a while.

Apparently. It is a Bioshock game, but it seems it's "still sort of in the paper-design phase," according to Levine.

thats close to 6 months ago, and with development/porting from ps3 to vita as easy as developers make it, it could be well into alpha stage right now. Im being optomistic but its a possiblity. Wait for E3 (hopefully).

You have a point, but the fact that he said that at all gives me the idea that he's sidelining Vita's Bioshock until Infinite is done. I think it's still the most recent update, so we can't be sure, though. The article also mentions that he sees giving it another studio as a possibility, but he's (rightfully) worried about quality. I don't really care, if the game's done well, but usually, handing off a game to another studio results in at least some drop in quality.

I think they are focusing all their time and resources on Bioshock Infinite at the moment so doubt we will see much progress on the Vita game. That said Ken Levine did talk about outsourcing the Vita game which may or may not be a good thing. http://www.pspworld.com/sony-psp/news/bioshock-to-be-built-from-ground-up-for-ps-vita-014150.php

Has outsourcing ever been a good thing? I've known most of them to be fairly accurate representations of the original game (LBP PSP comes to mind), but even those usually aren't as good games as the originals... Still, he did say that he was planning on working closely with any studio that makes the game, and that making a good game is the priority. Having a solid director behind a project could make all the difference, even if it was developed externally.

Outsourcing isn't always wise or good but in most cases it is. LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Resistance Retribution are good examples. Resistance: Burning Skies seems to be coming along nicely and hopefully will be polished and well done. One example of what is considered by some as a poor game that has been outsourced is Modnation Racers on the Vita.

Still, most agree that Uncharted: Golden Abyss or LBP PSP aren't as strong titles as their console counterparts. Both come close, but don't quite make it to the level of greatness their predecessors did. I can't think of an externally-developed title that was of equal or better quality than the original game. Resistance: Retribution was a decent port that very closely matched the PS3 versions' metacritic score, but that's a Sony Bend title, and they tend to make fairly good games (U:GA being one of them). On the other hand, great PSP games like Peace Walker and Crisis Core were great because they were designed by their original directors(at least, those of the original games on which these are based). Gravity Rush is being designed by Silent Hill's former lead, and it's plain to see that's turning out to be a great title.

I agree with your statement on Retribution, but let me add two things: 1. I think it really only applies when played on the Vita (since the Right Stick can be mapped to the Face buttons, which are used to aim). 2. HACKERS AND CHEATERS IN MP. 'NUFF SAID.

Yes, but these are both hardware-related issues, not a product of the game itself. Besides, people make too much of a fuss over face-button aiming controls. They worked just fine for many shooters on PSP, like MGS: Peace Walker, Medal of Honor, and of course, Resistance. I don't think there were any shooters on PSP that escaped cheating problems. Fortunately, this isn't a problem on the Vita - yet. Hopefully, it never will be. Anyway, hardware limitations aside, Resistance: Retribution was a great portable version of a great console game. But these are pretty rare. Most only make it to the "passable" mark. Just because one Resistance crossover was good, does not mean the next will be. Also, keep in mind that Resistance: Burning Skies' developer is Nihilistic Software, and their last game was the awful Playstation Move Heroes. I'm a little skeptical, because of this. SCE Cambridge, who are developing the Killzone and LittleBigPlanet titles for Vita, have a slightly better (albeit mixed) track record. They made the original MediEvil titles, as well as 24: The Game and TV superstars. LittleBigPlanet is a little more formulaic(in a good way), so it's harder to get that wrong if all the variables and features are in place. Killzone, on the other hand, is a much more complex game, with a lot more that could go wrong, gameplay-wise.

The fuss is because face button aiming isn't as accurate as analog. I avoided games that had to be controlled that way. In resistance I used the face buttons for moving.

Understatement. I clicked the video, saw all the dislikes and thought "Stupid Fanboys crying about American developers and that." I then saw the character customisation and thought "What a terrible idea, but I can overlook that crap gimmick."

Then I saw the gameplay.

"Don't worry fans, limited ammo, spooky rooms, dark atmohpere - all still there!"absolute bullcrap. It reminded me of that zombie apocolypse shooter that came out a few years ago on PSN.

I am truly dissapointed, it would have been a brilliant start for the vita for it to have a great horror game on it.

I love my Vita! Playing Dynasty Warriors Next. I played Pokemon White for a good while, but got a little tired of it and went back to my Vita. I beat Uncharted for it, which I loved, and now playing and loving DWN. Not sure what I'm going to play after that. I've got Mod Nation Racers, Little Deviants, and Wipe Out for it. Mine's the wifi model, BTW.

I wonder if they'll release a devil may cry game for the vita, since it was cancelled for the psp. Even resident evil would be nice.

The ones im looking out for is : FFX (remake) Persona 4 (enhanced port) Little big planet Tekken x street fighter And just random ones that arent even announced yet would be a god of war title, gran turismo vita and maybe Finalfantasy xiv (There hasn't been a true mmorpg avalible for a mobile platform yet,i think the vita is the first device that can make that a reality)

[QUOTE="tjoeb123"][QUOTE="LoW-MisterSeven"]Resistance.Killzone.Call of Duty.Dust 514.that's what im waiting for Sony, and you better tell those game companies to cough em up before I....wait...i'm thinking of something i can do that will be very damaging...eggs...toilet paper...Activision headquarters...yesssss.....SkinnyJeans1995
Replace Activision with Crapcom and I'm good. Anyway, more games need to come out, and fast. I'm sorta bored with the 3 I'll be stuck with for a while.

I have 17 games

not enough apparently

[QUOTE="bluefunky"]Ordering mine Tuesday. Just going for a wifi Vita, 4gb card and Army corps of hell and Stardust Delta DL. Can't wait!

STOP!the 4GB is not worth it! save yourself the frustration and at least get a 16gig.if you have to,get 8 but never get a 4 gig.you will run out of memory space faster than you can believe!

The 4GB comes as a freebie with the machine. Its cost me nothing. Its big enough to get me started. But thanks for the advice.

oh you're buying the bundle pack thing?i had to buy it seperately :P and man did that thing run out fast.though if a erase the two demos i have,i'll probably have another gig left...but i also have videos amounting up to an hour and i have a digital copy of Escape Plan,SSD,and Motorstorm RC so i have a picture of where my memory went...my suggestion is to get a hard copy.my Unit 13 only takes up 64 MB.the digital copy takes up 1.2 gigs :O perposterous!

Most of the games I buy will be from retail shops on places like Amazon. I don't mind digital downloads but if theres a choice I'll always buy the physical full retail version. I won't buy digital downloads as first choice until they're substantially cheaper than buying a physical version.
