I'm too much of a materialist to like downloadable games. I keep my systems for decades, and I don't trust hard drives to keep that long. However, there are some PS1 classic titles that are really enticing to me. R-Type Delta being one of them, because buying the original PS1 disk is $50 minimum. There are also a few more like the Spyro series, and some others who have been jacked up in price for the real disk, but are priced very good on PSN.

I do that myself. But more so with full (disk worthy) games (or what some companies want to do).

Smaller games or PS1 downloads, I'm fine with. Sony's pretty good with their downloading policy. When you buy it, it's tied to your PSN ID. So you can redownload it as many times as you want if you have to delete it.

My worry is bout ten years from now. I'm still playing my 21 year old NES, and NES games, so in the long run, I want to know if the games I buy will last me. I'm not the type to re-buy games I've already bought (I don't sell my gamesor systems, and never will), and want my games to last a long time. That's my only worry about DL games. However for the prices, some of them are mighty enticing.

Well, as long as you keep your console. I'm pretty sure your hard drive isn't going to die ten years from now. I also don't think PSN's going to die ten years from now either. PS2 is still going after all.

But yeah, you don't rebuy games on PSN. Believe me, I was paranoid as well:P

I've had bad luck with hard drives in my time, so I'm always worried about them failing on me (again), and don't fully trust them. However, for the prices, R-Type Delta's yummy gooey Shmup goodness will soon be mine. $6 is a steal. I guess I also have Pain on my PS3 (I got a voucher fro a free download when I bought my PS3). It's OK, but I'm glad I got it for free. It always seems to have a ton of updates every time I play it. I spend more time updating it than playing it.

In his/her defense, 10 years is a LONG time for anything on the internet. Just about the only websites/internet properties that still exist are Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo, and they're not that old really. Over 10 years I think, but still not very old. The internet has a tendency to change very rapidly and unexpectedly. And maybe it's just me, but new hard drives don't seem to last as long as the older (incredibly smaller ones) did. So, I guess in a way, I agree with you. :) Yay! But yeah, at least the prices aren't bad. I'd spend what I spend for a psn title at a fast food restaurant in no time. When you look at it like that, it's not a bad deal, really.
