*-What Genre's do we need to see more this gen ?-*

RPG: Square Enix lost they sweet impressions on my seriously.. I was just playing Chrono Cross and then Im looking at

the games they ONLY have out now like FFXIII, NIER, and Star Ocean 4... Geez Square.. It wouldn't hurt if you guys threw in

RPG's that looked like Disagaea 3 or some more PS one games like how you guys do it on Japan PSN (they got it made.. They have it all..)

Survival Horror: RE5 was ok... It's still strange how we didn't get SIREN 2 on disc and how Silent Hill was the as usual flop lol.. It seems like

Dead Space and the new Dead Rising 2 is the only two games of it's kind really trying to put a scare and great promotion on us... Who can beat that now ? I mean, are the developers scared of their own creations now ? lol....

Online Arcade games: What ever happened to games like Bust A Move ? ? I know we got scott pilgrim but we don't got it for online.. Im sayin that if we gon get all these hot PSN games... At least give us some online... We'll appreciate it :)

Some that come to my mind are JRPG, SRPG (they were never really big around), Stealth and on-rail shooters (hope Move will bring more of them)

Action / adventure. Seems like all we get is shooters these days. I guess they figure people might lose interest if they had to go an entire minute without firing 100 rounds at something. I miss the days of single-player only games that lasted many hours and you actually had missions to complete, and they required some thought to figure stuff out. And THEN you would do some shooting.

I want pure Platformers. Just not a popular genre on the PS3, or any console really.

I want:

platformers

New IP fighting games. it's the same 6 to 7 games over again. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter, and Gulty Gear. Other than Blazblue and that other game that system arcs did, there hasn't been many new fighters. Just a bunch of cross over games.

Side scrolling or vertical scrolling spaceship/aircraft shooters.

JRPG's that are actually amazing. There are plenty of RPG's out there but only a few of them keep the attention. Tales of Vesperia and Demon's Souls are the top tier games.

Action/Adventure RPGs with FPS and TPS mechanics. For once, I would love to see a game that combines everything we love about multiple genres, create an amazing story with great visuals, music, sound and tons of content that would put most MMOs to shame. It can be done, but devs don't have that ambition to go beyond anymore. I wish I could just create my own game! It would destroy everything else on the market out now!:P Ah well, one can always dream, lol.

But to simply answer the question, we need more Action games period

More RPG's would be nice,but what i would like to see is some space combat games like free space 2,colony wars,wing commander ect. As good as the colony wars games looked on ps1 i can only imagien what they would look like with the ps3's power!Also with more modern flight moddles and i dont mean like the super simple flight models used in the H.A.W.X games but something more complex.

Anything but more sandbox and I'd be happy.

Some more puzzle type games like Half Life and Portal would be cool.

I'd love to see more pure old school console rpgs. Most of them are made for the DS and I wish they would make some more for consoles with big budgets for breath taking visuals and stuff. I also hope that DC Universe marks the beginning of some MMOs made for consoles.

I really hope they localize Tales of Graces for the PS3 and that other PS3 tales game. (I'm not talking about Vesperia, because there's no way that one is gonna be localized at this point.)

there were so many great JRPG's on the ps1 & 2, but barely any great ones on the ps3

I'd like to see more RPGs, I mean if you take a look at the PS2's library of RPGs, you'll see that the rate of RPGs on the system matches the constant shovelware seen on the Wii. I also would really like to see platformers, I mean the PS1 had Crash and Spyro along with others lesser platformers, but this gen has few platforming games outside Ratchet and Clank.

definately more Platformers....all we have on the PS3 this gen is Ratchet, and while i love those games....R&C, and an Occassional Tomb Raider is all we have gotten. This is excluding LBP because its more of a level creator, but in the PS2 days, and PS1, cute silly Platformers were popular such as Crash, Spryo, Ratchet, Jak etc. Out of all of those Ratchet is the only one that hung on. Tomb Raider 9 is in the works now, and sense Square Enix took over Eidos the games could be moving in a better direction but....more cute silly, wacky Platformers please???
