what happend to rpg's?

I love playing games like baldurs gate and champions of norrath with my friends. But there doesnt seem to be one game like that for the ps3. It seems to me that every game is a freaking shooter, or if its an rpg its one player, or it is two player but it sucks really REALLY bad. What ever happend to rpg's? do people not like them anymore? what the heck? I mean am I wrong? cause if you know of a good rpg thats two player let me know!

dungeon seige 3 is supposed to be like buldurs gate, and its co-op, or so ive heard.

co-op rpg's like the tales game would be nice.

Whit knight chronicles is co-op online, but the game overall is dull.

i know what you mean.. loved the champions and dark alliance games..

sacred 2 was fun but there were some pretty huge bugs in the game..

i think there are some psn games like dungeon hunter alliance and those death spank games.. not sure though haven't played them

I was just playing Champions of Norrath, and I too would like some more games like this on the ps3. All there really is right now is Sacred 2 and Dungeon Siege 3 (which is apparently really short). If you can get a few people to pick it up you can try out Two Worlds 2 for the online co-op and pvp (idk how these modes are since the community is completely dead, but it seems like it could work considering the large scale of the world in the game lending itself to some nice diversity).

This generation of consoles is defined largely by FPS whileyou could make an argument the same is true of the last gen with RPGs.

They just are not valued the way they used to be. If you want RPGs check out the handhelds; it seems they've moved in that direction. Probably has something to do with development costs on the home systems.

Well if you want a good RPG.... Skyrim comes out in less than 2 months. :)

I always recommend Sacred 2. The game is HUGE. There's minimal to the story. The game is all about killing, leveling up, and looting.

its funner with friends. and ive been wondering if star ocean the last hope is co-op. whenever i set a teamate to "do nothing" it says "manual" above their status.

RPG makers have been priced out of the market simple as that.

Isn't the Fallout franchise a RPG? I mean I wasn't really a fan of FO3 but enjoyed it after numerous attempts at trying to play it, and would say that (if iti s classed as a RPG) it would certainly be one to look at if you have not tried it already.
