What has happened to the Playstation 3 logo when you start a game?

Bit of a useless topic but is it been updated/changed?

It was removed so that the PS3 loads up faster apparently.

how dare they, would they of done that to "the creepy and eery but cool" playstation 1 game boot up sound, or the classic "mmmmmmmmooooouuuwww" of the PS2 boot up sound? Im disgusted.

I wouldn't have cared so much if it had actually sped up game loading like they said it would. Instead, we are greeted with nothing for the same amount of time as when it chimed at us after clicking on a game.touchyourtoes

:o It's been removed?! Before the update, the Slim was the only PS3 that didn't show 'Playstation 3' in the spidey fony upon starting up a game, and now all of them don't? :(

You do get that burst of confetti now. I'm pretty sure they removed it just because the font on the splash screen was the old Spidey font. It sure didn't do anything to speed up the loading of games.

well in that case sony can come collect my 60 gig coz its got the spidey font on it and replace it with a brand new slim coz its "up to date" with the new style on it, right.... wheres my phone.

Firmware 3.0 did this, they could of atleast pit the new ps3 logo on it.

I loved that logo :(.. Now its just a stupid black screen :(.. I feel they have not removed the logo.. they have just changed the color of the logo to black, so that it getscamouflaged with the background ;)... Cos i don see much of a difference with the load times after the update.. m being stupid and m a 100% wrong.. But still ;)lol..

i hope they just tok it out and didnt have time to replace it with the new logo hopefully theyll put the new logo in on the next update or start adding it to new games or something its not a huge prob just a lil annoying when for 15 yrars theres always been something there
