I am currently living in Canada and I am planing too buy a PS3 tomorrow...I was thinking of buying it from bestbuy store...so my question is will the PS3 have the PS2 emotion engine...or is it the same as european PS3's.
It will undoubtedly have the chip. The US and Japanese markets haven't officially had the chips removed yet, and even then there's still a good bit of stock left. A couple of months from now, however, will probably be seeing mostly software models.

I havent heard anything about the US or Japanese markets ever taking the chip out. I thought that was just a europe thing. If thats true i need to run out and get one real soon.
I don't know too much about Emotion Engine but what happens if they do remove it? Is it a good thing? Is it a bad thing? Is it both good and bad with different reasons?

Definitely a bad thing... Sony took it out because it would be cheaper to manufacture the PS3 consoles with PS2 emulation software... That's also why I got mine last week... making sure I would get one with the chip...
