What if... (inFamous 2 related)

What if Suckerpunch decided to cast the original voice of Cole as the Villian Cole, and Hero Cole has the new voice actor. That way both kinds of people are happy, the fans of the original and the newcommers who probably wanna play as the "Nathen Drake" looking Cole.

His original voice already sounded "bad guy" like, even as a Hero...so I think this would work out if they did this.

This is highly unlikely, but I just wanted to throw that out there, cause they haven't shown Villian Cole yet for inFamous 2.

It would be also pretty cool if Cole in the 1st inFamous returned as evil Cole in the 2nd. Even though I wanna see what kind of new evil look they will give him in the 2nd...maybe a mohawk :P

hmm good point...if they don't have save transfer, then I guess start the player out as "good coles" voice...or have a sequence where Cole chooses a good or evil choice before having any dialogue yet...and depending on what you choose determines what voice he will have...maybe this is too complicated to work...

When u try something new, u dont want to half-ass it so since Sucker Punch wanted to change the voice of Cole then they should go ahead and make every effort to create an amazing experience. People are so scared of change but change is what moves the industry forward. The recent gameplay we saw of Infamous 2 looked fantastic so just let Sucker Punch do their job and make a great game. I loved the first Infamous and seeing Coles new look suprised me as well but what they are planning to do in Infamous 2 justifies the changes they want to make and i cant wait to see the results.

I agree with ya for the most part. I'm sure Suckerpunch will know best what to do anyways, and they went with this new voice because they felt like he would suit Cole better than the old Cole. And like I said earlier, that I was interested in how the new Cole would sound like as a villian. And I don't think it would be half-assed if they had two different voice actors.

It was just a suggestion, cause a lot of people didn't like the new look or voice. I don't really care either way, cause like you said the gameplay looked amazing. I still don't think it is a bad idea for two different voices, cause both voices suit both evil and good cole.

its hard to say if the new cole is good or bad thing at the moment - he might even be in the game anyway. Suckerpunch did such a good job with the first I am hoping they know how to make the next inFamous good too. A new character can move the game forward - as new games often feel very similar when they use the same textures, areas and characters. One thing id like to see in the new game is some kind-of fast travel, since cars were off the list.Roguey000

Good idea. I myself prefer the new voice actor. I didn't really like the old Cole- he sounded like a Snake rip-off, and it annoyed the hell out of me. Every time he spoke, it was like I could feel the actor developed Laryngitis. What I would like Suckerpunch to do, however, is revert Cole's face to how it was in the original. It's fine if he is re-styled because people change their look all the time, but a new face just makes it weird. HellsAngel2c

Edit: Oh and his voice is different cause he finally got medical treatment for the larybgitis...he couldn't get it before because of the quarantine in Empire City, I can't explain the face change though lol
