What if MGS4 wasn't exclusive?

And no, I'm not talking about the rumor about it going to *that other console*, as that rumor has been repeatedly squashed by Kojima himself.

What I mean is, do you think the PS3 community as a whole would still hold MGS4 in such high regards if it wasn't the PS3's most important exclusive?

I see all these topics asking "What's the best game on PS3?" and a lot of the answers refer to MGS4.

Now I'm not hating on MGS4 or anything, it was a great game--no, amazing experience, but I just can't help but think that a lot of the people who say it's amazing say that because it's only for PS3.

If it was for both (or maybe even all three consoles), do you think we would still love it as much as we do?

I wouldn't even want to discuss that. I know ALOT of people would be angry because ALOT of them bought the PS3 because of this game when they could've played it on the other console. Please don't bring such subjects over here.null_is_zero

I might had bought a 360 instead of a PS3 :S

Reasons being: Its cheaper and by that time i didn't know any PS3 appealing released exclusives (i didn't know about the existence of uncharted...)

It would still have been my most anticipated ps3 game , and still clearly the best ps3 game so far in my eyes.

I never considered MGS4 to be the Best game on the PS3, Sure its fun and graphically amazing but in my opinion, not the best.Sk8ter_213

I wouldn't mind it as long as the PS3 version didn't have to be dumbed down in order to get it on multiple consoles. king23_
