I think it would be awesome to drive with those realistic controlls in an open world environment. Seeing as racers are going the "track route." Evading cops would require you to drive correctly and the pit manuever would be an actual threat! Mix it with nfs/mc customization and a story mode with lots of cars - I mean lot - and you have the best racing game ever. The only weird thing would be that the cops would be really hard to shake unless you could drift well and turning around after you crash would be a chore lol.

Agreed. Its like taking the chocolate donut game and saying "What if we had chocolate crackers instead of donuts" Yea but then it wouldn't be a game about donuts anymore.

I could certainly see promise in it. It would be EXTREMELY tough to pull off though, and would most likely turn out bad as everyone else has suggested. :P When I saw the title though for some reason I immediately thought of GRiD. But thats just purely from a driving mechanics persepctive. Its got equal parts of GT's realism and Midnight Clubs over the top style.

Agree with most. I think that would be a terrible idea. Like making the fanciest of fancy meals and serving it with fries and a coke...Just cheapens a great experience. Besides which, GT is an excellent game as it is, and, if it aint broke don't fix it.

Really? The only difference would be the environment. None of that 100mph turning just realistic controlls in traffic. And I don't really like the customization in prolouge - seems watered down from 4. I do think that arcade racers need work though. There are no where near as many cars as in any gran turismo game ps1 and up.

yeah really, arcade racers are about just that. an arcade racer. Going fast, "chucking skiddies" drifting, modding up your car, sound systems **** and hoes and all other derogatory comments carboys sometimes make to girls.

GT is a racing SIMULATOR, the realism that they try to hit is above and beyond any other racing game

If you try to mix realism with an arcade racer, you will have real life.

Car boys who get a loan, write off their cars TRYING to show off to unimpressed girls, and live on the dole trying to pay off their now busted car.

And noone wants to play that.

Wait a minute guys I'm not talking about actually combining them! Just a street racer with realistic controlls. Maybe my title was misleading.

a street racer with realistic controls is misleading in itself.

Street Racing in fantasy is exactly what they put in games, easy drifts, lots of smoke and a control scheme that lets anyone pick it up and have a go.

If the controls were realistic, unless you practised this game, ALL the time, you would crash almost everytime.....

I think the different genres of racing games are fine the war they are! :D

Except we need to see more action racing! BRING BACK TWISTED METAL AND VIGILANTE 8 DAMMIT! >.

I think it's getting into dangerous territory here. By saying Gran Turismo realism, and real, motoring highways and byways...I am thinking Driving Simulator...a new venture by microsoft for people who can't actually drive...That would be boring as hell...I mean, sitting back doing 25 in a steadily moving line of traffic because you can't pull into the opposite lane because there's an impact barrier in the way. Think of all those country lane crashes as you plough into a tractor at 155mph when you do finally get some speed up. I'm thinking it has potential...but no the potential to be a game as such, more flight simulator with cars...

It would not be good. The concepts are too different to work together
