I own a 40 gig and don't miss any of the extra options. If your looking to save some money and dont want to play PS2 games the 40 gig is the way to go.

its worth buying since ps2 is dying and you have 40gb

ps3 has no hard hitters so most of the games you buy wont affect your gameplay plus no trophies so you probobly wont get any excitment beating single player games

It's missing 2 USB ports, No backwards compatibility,no memory cardreader and 40GB less than the 80GB model. But if PS2 games arent important then it's pretty much worth the current price. I warn you the only fun game currently is MGS4, and we wont see another PS3 worthy game until Christmas or next year sometime. You're better off waiting on a PS3 purchase in light of a price drop coming later this year.

The only differnces are that it has no card readers, less memory and only 2 USB ports, and can't play PS2 games.

But then again, you can always upgrade the memory :P

250 gig harddrive from tigerdirect $90. It couldnt be easier to upgrade. IMO it doesnt matter what model you buy you will eventually want a bigger harddrive. I was just at my local walmart (TN) and they had 2 MGS4 bundles so Id try to get one of those if I could.

the 40 gig is the best choice for a cheap price, if you get a PS3, is for playing PS3 games....if you want to play PS2 games, thats what a PS2 is for, if yo ualready have one, keep it and get a 40 gig.

2 USB ports only are more than enough, i have a 40 gig and BARELY use 1 USB port ( only use it for charging the controller )

you should wait for the $400, 80 gig version ( same as 40 in features + 40gig )

and get games with the money you save :)

The $400 40 gigs right now are also missing DS3 rumble controllers. You should wait until next month when they release the 80 gig, same things it has for the 40 gigs and the same price too for $400 bucks.
