If its a room with a lot of sun buy an LCD. If it is a dark room a plasma will be better. Plasma is better in picture slightly, but in a bright room it is a pile of sh**. Another thing is its fragile unless you get the higher end models. Go with a nice sony bravia.

Id say go for the LCD. I personally worked at a place called futureshop in the HOMETHEATRE depart. Many customers asked this question to me. The main selling point on LCD screens with relation to gaming is that it wont burn in, Plasmas may. They can also put forth alot more fast paced action with a higher response/quicker.

Go for an lcd. If you can, get something over 40" with 1080p. It looks quite nice.

Plasma TVs handle fast paced action better. They don't have slow response times like LCDs do.

I played that demo for like 2 weeks till I got the game for christmas, honestly I have never been that into a game before in my life. The cities in assassins creed on my HDTV when you just enter the area and view the city/scenory is just amazing assassins is another game that I can't wait for some type of sequel for. I also can't wait till these highly anticipated titles come out then we can see how good things can look.

Please comment if you recently switched from an old TV to a new HDTV on how dramatic the difference was with specific games.

Thanks

You're probably more impressed by the newer display than the LCD technology. Both LCD and Plasma have greatly improved in just a few years, so it's possible that most newer HDTVs will look better than yours regardless of the technology. I wouldn't recommend selling the plasma for an LCD, but that's just me.

i personally went with the LCD...not only does it look better then plasma...it lasts longer and has no problems...with plasma u gotta worry about image burning on ur tv...MAJOR piss off...with a LCD u MIGHT have the bad luck of getting a burnt pixle at some point....but at least u can play with 1 burnt pixle on the TV till u can make it in to exchange it

I game on a 56" LG Plasma TV with 7.1 surround.

Someone mentioned "burn in" which is a problem with plasma TV'S but with the new models, the burn in only lasts for a minute or 2 then it's gone..

The picture is amazing,

I had an older model plasma that had poor resolution and dots, like you describe. I bought a new 1080i and the dots are gone.:)

So true, I have a 48 inch bravia connected with a hdmi cord to my PS3. All I can say is Godly.

Really no sense in playing games with a PS3 without HDMI.
