considering how tough its been for places to get them in, that may be why.You would think they would be outselling the 360, but according to the last NPD numbers i saw, it isnt the case. Manufacturing problems maybe?

God of War 3 and Final Fantasy 13 are now out. Maybe that could be part of the reason for PS3 being hard to find. Many gamers holding out for those two games? Seems the PS3 slim is selling better than the Phat did during its first few months?
i believe you mean final fantasy XIII :PGod of War 3 and Final Fantasy VIII are now out. Maybe that could be part of the reason for PS3 being hard to find. Many gamers holding out for those two games?

Yep I screwed up the Roman Numerals. I since fixed the post. Imagine if Those two games had been ready at the PS3's launch would Sony be in 3rd place in the console race?Megavideogamertheyd be doing better if nothing else. although FF13 got multiplat'ed. ps3 had MGS4 early on so that helped it along. im not sure if it wouldve gotten many more people to shell out $600 for it though.

You are right, the initial cost hurt PS3 sales (but in the end they won the blu-ray war which the PS3 played a huge part in, so it was probably worth it in the long run for Sony). I dont care much for who is in what place. If the cheaper options sell better, does that really mean anything? I've always believed "you get what you pay for".

does back ordered mean out of stock?
Falinx
yea back order means out of stock but if you order it you going to be the first to get yours on there next shipment which is always a 2 week wait
but to answer the forums question sony just cant produce enough ps3 to keep up with the high demand of the system now just like how wii was a couple years back
Why use Indiana Jones when you can use this fine man;any idea why they are so hard to find now? I feel like i need to hire indiana jones to find me one.

Most likely. :]
I can't seriously imagine it's that difficult to find a PS3, try Ebay.
They're phasing out the older models and want people to build up an exaggerated demand for the Slim model and they do come around, it's just about timing. Simply find out what time your store gets shipments and you can be waiting on that day. That's what I did and found one for my step dad on a days notice. There was this big supposed drought but I had access to 3 by being at my local Gamestop at 2:00PM on Tuesday/Thursday.
It's good and bad for Sony. Good because it shows the system is selling. Bad because, people who want one can't get one and they might get another system if they cannot buy a PS3.
