I have read that the PS3 can do HDR or antialiasing but not both at the same time.  Is this true?

What is HDR? high def rendering?

 

what does Motorstorm use? what will Gran Turismo use?

High Dynamic Range look it up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging

Its like realife lighting when you go into a dark tunnel and go out into the day light your eyes have to ajust

yeah if the guys who make the games put it in there its the Game if it has it or not not the ps3

The dev. of HS said that they are using HDR an AA.  Don't ask me for a link, cause this was awhile ago.

Also, if I remember correctly, the Cell can do some type of lighting effects that rival, if not surpass, that of HDR.  Once again, don't ask for a link cause I don't have one.  Of course, I could be just pulling that out of my ass, but I'm pretty sure I heard it somewhere.

i didnt hear about that cell infor but i did hear about that heavenly sword info so thats good

there are different levels of HDR lighting. the ps3 can do FP10 HDR + AA, but it can't do FP16 HDR + AA. Ninja Theory made up a workaround called NAO32 which imitates full HDR and can also run AA. Heavenly Sword will use NAO32 + 4xAA.

it makes shadows and lighting looks more natural

a good example, go check Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
