Between those two, for me, HD gaming is definitely more important.

Great sound can absolutely enhance the experience, though.

I love surround sound, but I can live without it. HD however, there's no coming back from that :).

HD. Sound doesn't add as much IMO.

But neither of them can save a game with bad gameplay.

I do love surround sound, but I live in an townhouse and I have neighbors, so I can't really immerse myself in surround sound like I'd like.

Once you go HD, your jaw drops, and you get that tear in your eye from sheer delight. You can't go back to SD once you've been bitten by the HD bug. You don't even want to watch the "other" t.v in the basement / bedroom / back room unless it's an LCD.

So, I'd have to say that I'm / we're fans of High Definition / PS3 / Blu-ray movies here in my house.

Well to me the game itself.Yeah a nice picture and sound is nice but I really could care less about that when I am playing my game.I am not saying I want to play on a black and white no sound TV but still. The game itself is more important than either of those.

this is gonna sound funky but hear me out.

i went against the norm and went with sound. i've played ps3 for over a year now in non hd format. but great games, like great movies, if there is surround sound, things are glorious.

hearing all those explosions in COD4 in surround is a beautiful thing.

playing in HD is great too though...its like...maximizing your playing potential.

Definitely HD, audio can be overlooked as long as it's not mono sound. But I'd definitely be more inclined on having superb visuals than anything else.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I agree 100%.

And like those pics in the post above me, speaks for itself. GT5 Prologue in HD = FTW. The cockpit view rules.

Has to be HD...when I forst put Assasins Creed in I had a standrd SCART cable running...looked pretty good....hooked up with the HDMI...and my old man who has no interest in games couldnt believe the difference...

HD massively enhances the enjoybalility of gaming in my opinion

I agree.

On the topic...None.

I still play in SDTV and no plans yet in buying a HDTV. I don't want to waste money just for better graphics. I'm already in awe and satisfied with graphics in SD.

I had my PS3 for 3 months before I bought my HDTV, and I could not believe how much better HD made the experience. I will admit that my surround sound has also enhanced my enjoyment of gaming, but not to the same degree.
