I am very curious because i just bought a PS3 friday and i know how to hook up the internet connection and everything but i have a few questions about Resistance online and about the PS3 online. Is Resistance chaotic with the 40 ppl maps or is it pretty organized as in where the weapons are and you dont feel like a chicken with no head running around trying to find good weapons and enemies and how many match types are there, as in i know there are many like breach and team deathmatch. I also am very confused about the customization thing (if there is one) as in what can you customize and how does it work? I am curious about what the PS3 online is like, (all I know is it's free) is it anything like Xbox Live, how do you set up an account, and when you get the hang of it is it easy to use? Thank you for the help in advance.

RFOM is pretty crazy online. I play a lot of free-for-all games, and i like it a lot. You get to figure out where the weapons are, but it takes awhile because the maps are huge and you're not very good at first. Playing team games it is much more organized, but its hard to have a lot of organization when the maps are so large. I like it a lot, and would play it over Halo 2 any day. You can customize almost everything, but I like the ranked games better. You will have a lot of fun with it, just don't get discouraged at first because it takes some getting used to.

the wepons are easy to find but the more powerful wepons have less amo. also it going to be pretty crazy becuase there a lot of clans in resistance so if you face a clan on 40 player you going to find yourself fight 10 people everytime you spawn. it will be helpful to have a mic that how the clan find peopl and tell who to kill. you should find yourself a clan there signing list at playstion.com.

I'll try and actually answer some of your questions.

1. Playstation Network works similar to Xbox Live but doesn't have as many features yet, though Sony has announced a lot of plans for it and there are regular updates. You get a name there's photo chat, text chat, video chat, friends lists, online store, internet browser, and unified online ranking for any game wanting to use it. It works well, fluidly and I've had few problems.

2. RFOM is great online, has online ranks which you get by playing ranked matches and the higher your rank gets the more goodies you get for customizing your character. There are Clans, you can create a party so that you play a ranked match with friends or clan members, integrated voice chat including the ability to create a 'party' of people who can hear your voice, and DM, TDM, Breach, CTF, and a couple others (these are most notable) the multiplayer maps all have 4 sizes (except for a few) and max out at 40 players. It also has co-op campaign and 4 player split screen.

3. The game is quite frantic, but once you get your grips with it it's very fun. I reccomend smaller games when you first start playing (like 8-16 players) bc you can get your bearings easier. The weapons are top notch as the game was designed by the Ratchet and Clank crew, you'll have a lot of fun mastering every weapon as they are all incredibly unique.

It's a lot of fun! And most players will work together even without headsets. There's this silent gesture as you play to know what to do. If you see a few guys running out, you join them and take down the chimera. It's pretty intriguing.
