I'm gonna get a couple when they release in north america, but my biggest concern is how is the battery life? I would think rumble/vibration would drain the battery much quicker. And we all play games that will lots of vibrating action (hahaha). From experience anyone?

Not true, I have one. It is the same tech thats in the DS2. No different. No "surround sound rumble"...

Play a shooter with rumble, and you'll never want to play without it. :)

You either aren't playing the right games or you're not paying attention. There's definitely some dynamic directional rumbling with the new controller.

I myself have a white DS3 and I love it. Some games you realize you didn't miss rumble all that much, but for others you really appreciate it. Warhawk really does it for me... the rumble adds quite a bit to the gameplay experience.

Are you sure about that? I am pretty sure its been confirmed that it is PS2 rumble in the DS3. Goggle "DS3 rumble tech"

The DS3 does not have touchsense. Its the same as the DS2. However, the DS2 DOES have stereo rumble. Even the DS1 probably did. That's why its called the Dual Shock. 2 rumble servo's. Try running over the curbs in GT4. It rumbles on the side you clipped the edge of the track on.

The dual shock 3 is using the same motor as dual shock 2. So it shouldn't have the touch sense function.

$5 off $50->Discount code: RE-XMA-SAA (expire 31st dec??)

Even the dual shock 2 had somewhat different rumble on each sides. I know that because I had broken my controller open one time *dang mega man 8, drove me crazy*, and certain sides would rumble at different times. Did that in socom 2 all the time. Dual shock 1, with its rumble feeling so light, I kindof doubt it had it. But maybe I wasn't playing the right ps1 games.

The joysticks and triggers are also improved. The joystick resistance is a little less springy so its easier to get the area between center and full left or right. Same with the triggers, lower resistance and less spongey feeling. It is just a much better feeling controller than the sixaxis.

Vibration and weight. One of the main reasons I didn't buy a PS3 until now is the wimpy controllers. I want heft and vibration.
