what is so great about gta?

there are other games that let you do a lot more than gta(crackdown, assassins creed, just cause, prototype) does but yet everybody makes a big fuss about gta, why????????? darkghost75

It's the type of style they use, just wreckless abandonment .. plus those games aren't even that good. GTA has built it's fan base, and game after game they deliver ..

i personally think that vice city and san andreas weren't as good as gta 3

judging from the videos of gta 4 the story seems like a rip off of the whole "american dream" idea

What's so great about the FPS genre all you do is shoot people and without online it would probably not be as big a genre as it is now.

What's so great about sports genres all you do is the exact same game over and over.

What's so great about RPG's all you do is run around, get a quest, and finish quest.

What's so great about fighting games after you learn all the moves without online or multiplayer it would get old.

What's so great about Phoenix Wright all you do is read and click things.

What's so great about GTA all you do is run around and shoot people.

Different people find different things to enjoy in everything.

GTA has very good exploration, great weapons, good humor, good missions, a great selection of vehicles, many fun sidequests, great characters, for the most part good stories. That would be why its so good.

my intention wasn't to persuade anybody, it was more out of curiosity then anything else
