What is so special about Uncharted?

I mean - COME ON! As far as I know your just moving through the jungle and killing thugs. What is special about it and why people adore Uncharted and are looking forward to Uncharted 2 saying that graphics in Uncharted 2 own every ps3 game graphics so far ?

This. It gave a different gaming experience from the FPS overload. Uncharted is a breath of fresh air with a good storyline, good humour and good, fun gameplay.

by using your logic then whats so special about any game? I mean you shoot things and run around, you drive things and avoid traffic/objects, you jump to platform to platform, you level up and gain more better gear etc....
Uncharted is just something that the ps3 needs, its like our own gears of war except infused with a bit of tomb raider. As for the whole Uncharted 2 Graphix hype, from what i saw, its aint that impressive

I went in skeptical and came out loving the game.

it has a great story, great characters and fun gameplay...well that's what i find special about it..to each his own

Let's see. It's fun, has a great plot and great characters, twists in the plot, great gameplay and graphics, good explosions and differant levels, doesn't get reapitive. Oh, and, it's only for the PS3 which makes it ten times better. There, happy now?

I like the "As far as I know..." part because that means you haven't played it.

#1 The story is very good.

#2 The characters are all great.

#3 It's a fun game to play.

Basically, if you have a PS3 and haven't played Uncharted all the way through, then you're doing yourself a disservice. At least rent the game and play through it on easy. It's not too long or hard so you could definitely beat it by renting it once.

its an amazing cinematic experience. it was one of the first games this gen to feel like an action movie. the character development was top notch, the graphics still look amazing, the story is great, great gunplay, and some platforming. i suggest you go out and buy it :D

A very Cinematic adventure

The whole game is packed with great characters, and Nathan is probably one of thebest characters introduced in the last 5 years.(the characters feel like real people, which is very rare an games)

The best voice acting ever, this plays a large part in making the characters feel very realistic.

A goood storyline with several plot twists that effect gameplay

Very good gunplay, fun and fast paced platforming

Stunning environments, nearly 2 years later it is still one of the most beautiful games, and Uncharted 2 blows the first(and every other game)away.

The music isvery good and fits the game very well.

Also the animation is simply jaw dropping, this goes for character movement as well as spot on facial animation.

I've beaten Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 5 times and i still feel it was largely underated. It goes without saying uncharted 2: Among theives is my most anticipated game.

The thing I found so special about it was the graphics were brilliant and the fact that games rarely these days have genuine good writing, the story, characters and dialog in this game are great and really left me glued to the screen.

Uncharted was developed by Naughty Dog. That's why it is so awesome. Naughty Dog learned a lot from making the Jak franchise and they applied it to Uncharted.

I didn't mention Crash because they didn't do a lot of plot progression in those games. There also was not a huge emphasis on character personalities and animation but in Jak there was.

Yea some games don't really need a good plot. Just look at how awesome the super mario games are. It's more about the gameplay only in those games.
