Haha, i was just messin'. I paid 1800 bucks for my 61" Samsung DLP with LED engine. I got a killer deal for it at Fry's because Best Buy and Circuit City sells the same TV for 2500-2600 bucks.
The Sony Bravia's seem to work better for me, I have had little to no problems with Sony TV's over the years. The LCD technology seems to be the best all around.jimm895
Actually, DLP's are the best for gaming because plasma has burn in issues, and LCD have motion blur issues.

I bought mines from amazon. It's 1,699 and I got mines about two days ago.

1) Burn in issues with Plasmas is really a thing of the past.
2) For the dude that says DLP is the best you obviously are not sensitive to the color wheel. Some people can see these.
3) Bravia LCD have their share of issues. CLOUDING. Very annoying.
4) This Panasonic in the link, amazing set. To bad Plasma eat so much electricity.

My Bravia Has No Clouding.
I have a 720p 42inch samsung plasma but kinda wish I had purchased the 1080p 40inch samsung lcd I did not have the extra cash to spend at the time. I do love my tv but I would say you cannot go wrong with a nice plasma or lcd from Samsung, Sony, Pioneer, and Sharp. I have both consoles connected to my Plasma and everybody I know says I have the best setup among my friends and family. Just make sure you purchase something nice because it would be a waste of money if you purchase a TV that you do not like a few months down the road.
1. Sony - BRAVIA XBR 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
2. Samsung - 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Save your self the some money and buy the Samsung because I believe you will get more for your money and please make sure you get a price match from best buy do not fork over all you money because I got my tv at circuit city for $1799.99 and price matched it down to like $1200.00. If you live near a Fry's just buy the TV there it will be alot cheaper than places like Best Buy or Circuit City.

Maybe I can clarify?
LED flashes just like how a color wheel spins, although they do it much faster than a color wheel can spin making it harder to see rainbows. Its not actually rainbow effect because there is no wheel on LED it is the reflection inside the screen. Have they gotten better? Yes. Are they gone? Nope. People still see them.

I actually like how you have to put DLP's on a tv stand. I never understood the appeal of hanging tv's on walls because you have to conceal the wires if you want it to look nice.

It just depends on how your home is set up. For me it makes sense as I have cut holes in the wall for wiring. It is just as easy to run a raceway. If a personhas a dedicatedroom for home theater, most componentsexcept the TV will be completely hidden.

What started this was the fact that I mentioned Sony LCDs in general (excluding XBR4 to an extent) have clouding issues. You responded that your Bravia did not. I am sure it probably doesn't as it is not an LCD which I specifically mentioned. You seemed to think it is. LCoS and LCD are different technologies. Just trying to help. Continueing to see if I would try to help you from sounding ignorant only made you look like you haven't a clue what you are talking about. Mission accomplished.
is there a samsung that is comparable to the sony xbr4?crazywayne287
61,71,81 series. Seeing upclose comparisons to ISF calibrated units most seem to think the Sammy wins. It is too close to call as Samsung makes the panels for the Sonys. The Engine in the XBR is top notch along with the scaling. It seems the average consensus about these units is the 120mhz screens cause an extremely unnatural looking viewing experience with movies. I feel the same way however I do not own one and am not sure if it just takes some getting use too.
