What is the most played shooter for ps3 right now?

I just got a ps3 three weeks ago. I got Metal Gear Solid 4 the same day and Killzone 2 yesterday. I like both games so far but I'm wondering what the most played shooter for the ps3 is. I know MGS4 been out for almost a year already. Whenever I go online with it I only see any between 1-3 full lobbies of 950 people. So about 3,000 people online at a time. I love the game but that to me seems pretty low. Also with KZ2, if i try to find a game with people around my level there are hardly any rooms. From what i read on the forums KZ2 online is dying off supposedly and its only been out for a few months. How are Resistance 2 and Socom? What are the hottest exclusive and hottest multi-platform shooters that most people are playing right now and how many people can you find online at a time on those?

Figured it had to be one of the Cod games. I have CoD 4 for xbox and there was always at least 50,000 people online.Any multi-platform shooter I'll probably just get for the 360 anyway.What about most played out of the ps3 exclusives?

From my experience Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 always have a lot online. I don't have the game, but I'm sure SOCOM: Confrontation has a loyal following.

Socom confrontation has a great community and is running well now. Its an online only game and has some awsome custimization form guns to your outfit. I recomand socom. PLus everyone most of the time has aheadset. But as for numbers, Socom on average has 13,000-15,000 on. I would say it is one of the best online games for ps3 only.

Resistance 2 and Warhawk are both pretty packed with players. I'd have to imagine SOCOM has its fair share of followers, too.

There's plenty of people playing Killzone 2, the thing is mosteveryone is ranked up. So if you're one of the low ranks you're probably going to have a hard time finding servers with only people around you're rank. Kind of sucks for the new people I guess, although ideally it's suppose to help you get used to the game. I certainly don't feel lonely playing KZ2. I usually spend 10 minutes everyday just trying to get into servers.

But as for other big onlineshooters there's Resistance 1 & 2, and Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty: WaW. Only played CoD: WaW myself, it's alright. Call of Duty just annoys me though cause you can never hip fire. Also lots of nade spamming coupled with people who have played the game way too much.You should not need tolook downthe sight of apistol to hit someone less then 10 feet away from you, but I digress.

Socom sounds like it might be fun. I like customization in shooters like MGS4 and realistic environments and weapons. How is the gameplay though? I was watching some gameplay videos of it and one thing i noticed is, the people playing hardly ever aimed there gun and the gameplay looks a little stiff. I notice that in most of the ps3 exclusives so far. MGS4 you have the over the shoulder view, KZ2 you can pretty much just run and gun shooting from the hip and in the socom videos doesn't seem like anyone aims there either. My favorite shooter before i got ps3 was Battlefield: Bad company. It had its flaws but the game play is real good. I think its probably the most underrated shooter out right now and my favorite. Bad Company 2 should be good.

if you stop playing people with your own rank, you will find that the servers will be packed...

I tried Resistance 2. Didn't like it. I can't get into the fighting aliens thing anymore. Played halo 3 once and hated it. Gears of war 3 was boring, same crap as first 2 games. The type of shooters I like areBFBC,CoD4 and MGS4. Modern day shooters with real guns and real environments. I'm looking foward to MC2 and BFBC2.

Wait till the end of this week and Kz2 will be hot. I can't wait, hope the new maps will get me addicted again. But right now I'm playing Cod4, some Waw, and not much KZ, and Mgo i can't play at all, to many cheater/glitchers. Lone_Wolf94

I'm playing KZ2 right now. Took me a while to get used to but i'm starting to get the hang of it. Still has a weird feel to it. Turning seems to slow while aiming seems to fast. Other than that though I'm really liking the game. 118 kills 96 deaths now. At one point i had like 30 more deaths than kills. So i'm doing ok now.

And how do people cheat in MGO? When I play that game I never noticed anyone cheating.

Killzone and COD have are the most played shooters atm. Killzone 2 has about 200k people online so I wouldnt say its dying out quite yet. COD 4 and world at war still have people playing too. Resistance 2 has a few thousand. Like 10k. I still play it with friends but I mostly moved on to KZ2.:D
