MGS4 hands down.

Would be nice if it got trophies though. Any word on that?

MGS4 will win by a landslide I think. But in my opinion, Fallout 3 isn't far behind. And Bioshock would be right there I'm sure had I tried it.

Same here. I'd rather see GTA4 or Fallout 3 win.

For whatever reason they have Bioshock in the running for GoTY again...so naturally that will always have my vote.

meh MGS4 idk why do people like it so much its so normal to me and doesnt deserve a 10 but seems people are in a crush with it so it will win but Resistance 2 is a game that should win instead but heck why is MGS4 OVERRATED!Dante_May_Die

R2 is overrated as well

A lot of people know R2 in here, even I who don't like the franchise much, know it. MGS is just a far more supirior franchise.

For inovation has to be Little Big Planet.

But I think overall i would have to go with MGS4 just because it is epic on every scale.

Biggest surprise for me was that Dead Space was awesome and performed way above my own personal expectaions.

I don't see why not...I mean they have Bioshock in there which I don't agree with...

Don't get me wrong it deserves it, but it came out last year and it won more GoTY awards overall than any other game last year. Let something else have a turn. I could see them putting it in if it came up short last year, but it did anything but.

It is true it was some UK awards or something and CoD 4 was up against MGS4 and other games released this year it was kind of funny... Its kind of like the Xplay awards they do them in like the middle of the year and you get a mash up of games... In the Xplay awards i think Halo 3 won game of the year over MGS4 and CoD4 beat Halo 3 for best shooter it was a joke.

I find MGS as a franchise over rated. In my humble opinion, Splinter Cell was a better "stealth game" franchise than MGS.lmhansen

Off this list, I'm going to have to throw my vote behind Fallout, even though it is multi-plat, and will probably win for overall GotY.

I get that MSG4 is supposed to be a great game, but since I never played the originals, I never felt drawn to it.

LBP is a lot of fun, but not quite GotY material IMO.

Survival Horror isnt my genre, so Dead Space is out.

Havent yet made it to R2... but it's on the list.

But the dark horse candidate not on this list is, by far, Valkyria Chronicles. Excellent game, and PS3 exclusive to boot.
