What is your favorite kind of melee weapon in games?

You heard me. Personally I like punching and kicking... Something like a gauntlet of a tonfa.

A knife is what I love to use. There is nothing else better.

Crowbar, but it never gets enough love.

Bazooka Tonfas.

Whips.

...the usual.

Swords. Gotta love 'em.

Whacking someone with a gnome in Saints Row 2 is satisfying and funny. :D

A nice answer to this question would be like, what character is your favorite from Soulcalibur? I love Talim. Can't get enough of leaping at someone and whackin'em with your elbow.

I wish you could choose like, your signature gun and melee weapon in games. Like in EVERY game. lol

Although I didn't really enjoy the demo I liked stabbing the baddies repeatedly in the head with those blade thingies in that riddick game.

Sorry not ps3 but max strength fists on Crysis. I just love running around punching people and grabbing them by the throat :D

I find a baseball bat to the noggin the most satisfying.

I have to admit that Chronicles of Riddick double fist blades are quite effective as melee weapons.

If I had to chose, Snake's CQC Knife techniques would be my choice. ;)

Sword/knife, basically anything with a sharp edge.

Japanese swords especially katatana. Oh and a katamari. :D

I like using the warhammer like on Oblivion, and the Fire Axe on Silent Hill: Homecoming :)

A sledgehammer. That's all you need. In Red Faction Guerilla there's no substitute. You can conquer the entire EDF and level every building on the face of Mars with nothing more that your trusty hammer. Oh, the joy. Nephilim83

I totally agree! Red Faction: Guerrilla's sledgehammers are the ultimate melee weapons.

I just like regular swords. I love games with good swordplay like DMC and Ninja Gaiden

I like the Glaive in Dark Sector. Chain Saws are always fun too. I also like the pipe wrench in Bioshock. But I think the knife is the best, espeicially in COD4.
