from what ive heard the framerate only gets bad in one or two parts of the game, is that true? If so thats no big deal.

But Im mostly looking to see what you guys think of the rest of the game, framerate stuff aside.

So far I've tried HL2, TF2, and Portal, and they're all great and run really smooth. It's weird, so far I haven't seen any hitches in HL2, and I've been in that hoverboat-river-sailing part in the comparison vids, and my game hasn't chugged or slowed down. Tho, in some parts HL2 is BORING, and the story doesn't make much sense (jst like Halo's storyline...they make good use of cutscenes, but sometimes you just don't kno wat's goin on), leaving you with a bland taste in your mouth after you finished playing for the day. TF2 is VERY fun, and yeah, there's an automatic search engine that finds servers for you, and so far it looks pretty populated. You may start off with a server with just 2 ppl, but before you know it, ppl are joining like crazy, and you can have up to 7-8 (not sure wat are the caps) players on each team. Also, TF2 is pretty easy to pick up and play, and it's VERy quick to put you in the game - and, whaddya kno, teh stat-tracking is instant, unlike Warhawk's stat-tracking where it takes forever to upload. And, for Portal, well, it's prolly the best puzzle game I've played, and surprisingly I found it very trippy (yet still very much playable), even tho I set myself off with knowing what to expect before buying the orange box. Still, the loading in-game is a bit long sometimes (so far around 20 secs is the most loading I've experienced), and the loading outside of the game (I'm thinking the 360 version is the same) is identical (because first, you load the menu which brings you to your 5 games to choose from, and THEN you load the game - kinda annoying). Buy the game, but I still haven't played the other HL2s to tell u wat to expect from that...The game is worth buying with HL2,TF2, and Portal alone, and the package isn't just great because of how many great games you're getting, but because at least 3 outta the 5 games are rly fun (HL2 mite get more fun, who knows). BUy it.

IMO I think it's a really great game, only thing I dislike is the load times in Half Life, that is my only negative, other than that it's a real bargain

I'm up to the hovercraft part and there have been no technical issues at all yet.
Although TF2 is laggy as crap. It is like a slideshow. Also there are no one in the rooms, but that is probably because I'm playing at like 1 or 2 AM.
Loading times come often and are take like 10 seconds. After playing a game like Uncharted, with no loading after the initial screen, Orange Box is rediculous. The loading is just as prevalent as they were on PC come quite often.

Portals loads after each stage in the elevator ride and that is fine, but in HL2 it happens all the time and interupts the action.

Coming from a person who isn't afraid to criticize something, the framerate is fine. This is the best value this generation. Don't miss out on it. Every game in the bundle is outstanding.

The Orange Box is one of the best gaming compilations ever. Those who talk about the framerate issue blow it out of proportion, at least from what I've experienced while I've played. Load times are a little long, but I haven't really run into a framerate issue where the game becomes noticeably choppy.

I purchased this game, and it is soo good. The frame rate issue was really hyped. Im not going to lie, it happens a hand full of times (5-10) the whole games. Its not to the point of a slide show, but its like, playing, something happens, and oh , ok, then back to normal. It is not a big deal. Buy it, there is no reason not to. It is one of my favourate games.

Framerate only slows down in Episode 2 mostly. Sometimes in Episode 1.

But I have been playing through, and all of HL2 was fine. Any slowdowns are very bearable, and don't ruin the experience. I highly recommend getting this game, it is a great value.

PS. They may release a patch to fix long load times and framerate issues. They already have a STEAM forum dedicated to the bugs in the PS3 version, so hopefully they make the patch quick!

Naw, unfortunately I haven't, but either way TF2 and Portal are very fun, and HL2 still has that great gameplay and atmosphere - but again some parts are boring. Hope you get it, it's good fun, for it;s price or not (I rly like TF2 - good stuff. And, unlike wat some1 posted above me, there's hardly any lag, and recently I've been on full servers - it always depends on what time you play to get a full server tho).
