1) Reliability (I know people who have had their 360 sent away 4 times because of the RROD. It only happened to me once before I decide to switch to ps3.) Ps3 can break but its rare.
2) Online is free.
3) Everything you need is in the box (with the exception of an hdmi cable $4 if bought online). Wifi. Blueray. 80gb. Charger cable for the joystick. Web browser (youtube, facebook, etc).
4)For the big title games, ps3 runs dedicated servers, reducing if not eliminating lag and host advantage like you encounter on xbl. And if you want you can have 30 v 30 battles. Keep in mind you arent even paying a subscription fee and they run servers, unlike their competitor who charges but doesnt run dedicated servers.
5) My bluetooth headset will work with it. I don't have to buy some over priced official headset.
6) Most of the great games are multiplatform and are almost identical to 360.
7) Ps3 future exclusives look a lot more impressive. Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, God of War.
If you are looking for a reason to justify the $400 price tag compared to a 360, if you plan on getting wifi, xbl, and a charger cable for the 360, you have already exceeded the ps3 cost. Without wifi, its still close and you still don't have blueray. When I bought my first 360, I spent over $530.
I like how the ps3 allows you to use non-sony products so I dont have to use some over priced harddrive. I can put any similar laptop harddrive in it. I can install a different operating system on it (linux). They just give you a lot of personal choice and don't force you to buy Sony products.
So in a nutshell its an all-in-one machine that has everything I wanted to buy for cheaper, and it gives me personal choice with its options. I like the exclusives more.
I do have some gripes however. The media server can be buggy. It has some compatability problems with my router and it doesn't have netflix yet unless you stream it from your pc. Also, the online downloading can be slow, but online gaming works well. Also, it seems like not as many people use a mic on online. That can be a blessing sometimes because you dont have to listen to all of the little kids that love the sound of their own voic. Also, I have more friends on XBL, but they are starting to transition to the ps3.
Good look with your decision.
