What model ** when ** and where did you get your PS3?

Yo my peeps! Just wanted to see what models, when and where you bought your PS3?

Got a 20 gig from C.City on release day. Sent it back because I had the warranty 8) and got the 60 gig.... oh also got 6 free movies (including T.Nights from the 20 gig)

Anywho.... what model and where and when did you get yours?

Long story short:

60GB

Future Shop (PS3) Bestbuy (extra SIXAXIS and Resistance)

About last year.

I like the 80GB, its played the 3 PS2 games I have (GTA Trilogy) which I've been happy about. And it froze once while playing GTA 4 but the patch has made it seemless. Oh and it froze online during a COD4 match once. But overall two thumbs up :D

Cool, yea mine has froze up before on The Show.... but other than that its 100%. Sony should have made all 60 and 80 gigsmosset5

Really? I have MLB 08: The Show and its run perfectly (Well other than load times which are a tad long :D, but that doesn't detract from its awesomeness!). And yes, I looked at the 40 and the 80 (In Jan the 60 was like 500+ used...) and seeing as I never had a PS2 (Gamecude child :D) the 80GB was the way to go (But a 60 would have been nice, but I didn't want a used console...).

Where and how did you get Nintendo emulators. What will I have to download them with (winzip, bittorrent, etc..) if you or anybody could help me, that would be great.

you have to download and install Ubuntu on your ps3 justs google Ubuntu on ps3 and you will be fine its a operating system on your ps3 that is similar 2 windows if you donlt really know what emulators are i suggesst you goolge that also.

ps you can either search torrent or use google and download files from websites for emulators(systems) or ROMS (games) but this is illigal unless u have the original copy... but who the hell is going to know?

I picked up a 40 GB model from Best Buy, sometime around late Jan or Feb of this year, which was convenience because for reasons not to be gone into right now, my job went kaputt and now I have much more time for gaming. I thought there was an issue with the HDMI with the PS3, but it was my bad, because the issue was with the cable. Replaced the cable, and now I'm so glad I didn't return the PS3 at the time, and then I would have had to start R&C all over again. That's my two cents.

I yeah, and like a schmuck I'm still waiting for Home...

It was right after the price drop and Circuit City was already offering a free controller if you purchase a system before the drop. An offer no one could refuse. It was like paying $450 for a 60GB!

60GB for Christmas in '06.

i dont understand the 40gb dislike, i think most of you on here are more "advanced" than most, because i really don't need card readers, and i dont play my ps2 hardly at all anymore. i'v have had zero problems with mine.

i got it for about £350 in november with resistance, ext pad and 300 on blu-ray at gamestation, in britain.

Very lucky day, but the next day they lowered the price $100 dollars, but Circuit City took the money off for us.
