Simply knowing that all the franchises I loved on PS1/PS2 would continue on the PS3: Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Tekken, Kingdom Hearts (hopefully)...
Future games, $399, and built in wifi. RE5 is the only next gen game I really had to have. All the exclusives are nice in addition to some great upcoming multiplat games. When it came down to it, the 360 was more expensive as I wanted my system wireless. $100 is too much for a feature already standard on the PS3.
Wow, Motivate... such a strong word. I have heard of people being motivated to get thinner, smarter, faster, prettier. But motivated to get a console system??? PS3 will never ever motivate me to buy it. But my reason for buying it will be metal gear solid, final fantasy games. Oh and more importantly when i can get the 40gig @ $250.
Well I wanted a ps3 for a number of games like GTA IV, DMC 4, RE 5, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, MGS 4, etc.
I was motivated to get a ps3 last July was when Sony announced that they were going to discontinue the 60 gb with the EE chip. I have a ton of ps2 games that I haven't played yet and backwards compatibility is important to me.
Well, the upcoming GTA4 had me wanting a PS3, but I was waiting until closer to release date for that game. I found a great deal on a new 40Gig and jumped on it. Got The Darkness and Uncharted and I am floored by both of those game. Pure Awesome! The BluRay is phenominal also. I have had an HDTV for a year and a half and only after getting the PS3 a week ago do I realize I wasnt even using this TV to its potential!I feel like I am finally using my HDTV for what its made for,this thing can display one hell of an image.
Metal Gear Solid 4 and its the cheapest blu ray player that goes awesome with my brand new sammy LCD. I probably wont use it for anything but these 2 things
cuz i love my ps one, n my ps2, n cuz Playstation is the original console, not xbox... so i had to get the ps3, oh.. n also for the FF series, tekken, mgs, assassin's creed, n many others... 8) n DMC of course :D
I motivated myself, I turned down all those 360 fanboys telling me not to get a PS3. I just thought about all the games from the PS1+2 being continued on the PS3.
Impulsive PS3 ebay win lol, Bet 1000 for the system + sixaxe + 2 games and someone I got the runner up when others were selling at 15-1600 with just the system itself. Super suprised to get it (for so low...) and been a happy man ever since.
I sold my PS2 for an xbox with forza cause everyone was raving about it. I got bored of forza fast and wish i was still playing GT4. when i decided to get more games i could never find a decent rpg. and after buying about 20 odd games i bought a Gamecube. When the PS3 came out i thought stuff it i want to play a variety of games again. Now ive had to go back and play DMC series and GOW plus a few FF games that i missed out on.
Well since I'am a 80s baby ( meaning I grew up in the 90s) I loved sony ever since I got the ps1 and then I really start loveing the playstaion 1 when mgs came out for it and I been hook since, then the ps2 came I was all over it.And after mgs2 came out and gta3 thats was it I told myself I was going to buy the ps3 no matter what how much it cost,(because back then the ps2 was around 300$ plus tax so thats 326$$ every penny on a dollar) and now the ps3 what can I say mgs4 took one look at it and wait around next year to get one,because I was not waiting for one outside and not going to buy one off ebay unlike other people I can wait for things just like we are waiting for mgs4 and other stuff !!!!!
I've been loyal to the Sony brand ever since Nintendo opted not to upgrade to the CD-ROM technology. Final Fantasy VII broke the boundaries of what could be done in console gaming. The PS2 provided me with the most fun I've ever had as a gamer & as a natural transition, my loyalty remained solid with the PlayStation 3.
Backwards compatibility (the 60 gig model for the win), Metal Gear Solid 4, PAIN (yes you heard me, that game is sweet), Final Fantasy XIII are probably the biggest reasons.
I've had a PS and a PS2, and i just love every game i bought for them, and knowing that games like dmc and mgs are going to be in PS3, thats motivation enough!
