First I just want to get one thing out of the way. IW didn't support the game enough because they wanted to focus on their new game MW2. As most people know it takes 2 years to make a QUALITY game. So for all the people asking for new online support etc theirs your reasonfor that problem.

Anyways I don't think many people understand that the new COD is going to be multiplatform. Meaning they are going to make it similiar to the counterpart (PS3). So I really do not get why most people I see are holding this game in high regards. COD is not an exclusive so do not expect any big improvements from this game. I have many great features that I thought of that would make the new COD actually thrive and live like halo's online.

This feature is a...map creator but wait not only that IW should monitor the maps that get created for the game. Meaning say if you have both versions of the game and someone creates a great map for the ps3 and you can't play it on the 360 because some one from psn made it. I say that IW should monitor the maps that get created for both versions of the game and release user generated map packs. For both verisions so if you want to play a map that some one on psn created you can play it on xbl and vice versa.

Also a type of tournament thing like rock band 2 battle of the bands. Say you enter this game mode. I will call it shotty frenzy. First you start out at the bottom (meaning having zero kills) then you start getting kills by shotting people in the back and thats the only way you can get points to rank up. I think these game mode tournaments should have experience points as rewards. IW made two double XP weekends and let me tell you so MANY people were excited about that. Just think of this idea and let it sink in for a bit.

They should do this every 2-3 weeks or so that would really boost the online quality and maybe community. Also the maps should be incorporated into the playlists. So most players do not have to worry about certain people not having certain maps. I think this is a great feature that would boost the game's online but I know this will not happen.

If Activision does do something like this you will probably have to pay for it. Well that maps not the tournaments. In GHWT Activision was talking about selling songs that other people created WTF. Average joe players created their own songs with a feature of the game you let them use. Activision is gonna be a money grabber and take that feature to penny and nickel the players.

All most people I see just want more this and that. Which I think is just plain retarded more doesn't mean better. More just means...more. Look at halo look at how many map packs that game has gotten but has the gameplay improved? Most these things I hear most people asking for in the ned COD is just ridiculous. A golden knife, pistol camo, and the most feature I have heard is vehicles.

I personally think that vehicles (in multiplayer) is a disgrace to any COD (that IW has made). Every COD that IW has made was in the genre of (first person shooter) not 3rd person vehicle shooter. This would hurt the game's online severly and there is really no need for vehicles. I mean when I use a tank in COD:WAW I get called a tank noob. Come on now this will just start another COD term (noob tube).

Now campaign wise again this is a (multiplatform game). So do not expect a campaign any longer than 5-8 hours depending on the difficulty you play on. Most multiplatform 1st person shooter campaigns are shorter than an episode of Robot Chicken (sarcasm).

All I am saying is stop praising IW as if they are thee absolute get it done 1st person shooter company. The game is multiplatform MOST people I know think that it is only on 360 and expecting outragous things in this game. I mean look at GTA4 that game was super hyped and it fell FAR from the hype it got. So please stop hyping multiplatform games. They aren't meant to please customers they are just made to get money...and show that treyarch sucks at making better shooter than IW. If they really wanted to make the best COD ever known to man.

Then COD would have already became an ps3 exclusive. Please take this into consideration before you start hyping a game. Look at COD:WAW I knew that game would not live up to be as good as COD4. Why beacuse it was a multiplatform game. But that game was massively multiplatform, it was on the ps3, wii,DS, and ps2.
All I am saying is stop making dumb ideas for this game and outragous claims about it. I already know this game will not live up to the hype just how cod4 did not live up to the hype I had for it when it first came out.
Anyways, cheers and happy new years and enjoy your xbox 360s...that haven't RRODED.

I was about to commend your post until i saw the "Ecks Bocks" and the end, un-necessary and it ticks me off because this is a PS3 board.

You're entire post kept repeating how CoD was multiplatform only for you to say, in the end of it all, that all mutiplaforms are made to make money. So do you honestly think they make exclusive games for the sake of pleasing a certain fan base and this has nothing to do with the money? Trust me if they want to make a quality game (which CoD is known for by now) they'll make a quality game even if they have to release one version on the Dreamcast. Multiplatform doesn't determine a game's quality. And i don't get what you're getting at with the 6-8 hours single player campaign? if you're saying it wont fit much more because they have to account for what a DVD can carry as opposed to BD then I'm just gonna point to FFXIII which is an RPG and they'll cram a crapload of stuff onto a DVD and make the game multiplatform (i know that game will probably be multi discs but each disc will still carry a lot of material). And if by that you mean a lesser campaign means lesser quality then I will say that most shooter campaigns are 6-8 hours long because after this point it gets boring. I'll stop here because i'm bored now...

No, I do not mean that at all. All I am saying is that the new COD is not going to be a huge improvement from the last and that is because it is multiplatform. Multiplatform games do not make as huge of leaps like R2 or other exclusives.

Neither of you are helping to make this thread better.

Anyways, back on topic

I don't really hold it on any regard. COD4's online stunk to high hell and it was very unstable. World At War to me just seems like a WW2 version of COD4 with stupid gimmicks (though it's not IW). I don't really expect anything good from this new title as I don't think I'll buy another COD game. Single player on COD4 was good, but that can only go so far. IW doesn't know how to make an online game for a console. They did a really poor job with COD4's online and I'd expect the same in any other COD game made by IW. I just don't feel like waiting 10 months for a patch that would actually make the game playable.

I used to own COD3 and I can say that was the only stable COD game online for a next gen system (didn't play the PS2 COD's) Though it lacked mic and other features, atleast it actually worked and ran smoothly.

exclusivity does help in determining the quality of a game but i can point out a high quality game that is (now) multiplatform. Bioshock. The game is superb. So i don't think exclusivity determines the quality of a game per se but it does help so i guess you might have a case but i think we might be surprised with CoD MW2...atleast i hope we are and for the better.

Alright Denji I'll try to make the thread better.

Well, Call of Duty World at War's online is the epitome of Crap. Bad maps, Bad perks and Bad Glitches and Treyarch's patch will not do the online justice it needs and entire infrastructure makeover. With that being said Call Of Duty 4 was no bright n' red shiny apple, Some horrendous glitches and bad maps designs make it not the best it could have been but still better. Making the next COD exclusive will not change anything unless they change the way they make the game.

I expected as much. Whenever I've seen WAW footage, it seemed like COD4 with a WW2 skin. Just a giant copy and paste. Yet people still buy it.

The typical excuses were "your connection sucks" or "you suck at the game". But there's no denying when your connection is good and you're actually pretty good at playing online shooters. Whomever thought of P2P random match making was a good idea for COD4 needs to be shot.

I have Call of Duty 4 on the ps3, the online is inconsistent and generally has more lag than your average online shooter, and it makes you wait way too long to get into a game. Not to mention that it is really unbalanced and games tend to go down a lot. It can be really great, but inconsistency ruins it.

Denji, I'm sorry that you've had problems playing COD4, but a lot of us had a very good experience with COD4's online. I remember trying to help you out in one of your topics about this and it's still a mystery to me why you've had so much trouble. Anyways, back to my point. TC, if your point was to not expect much change from COD4. I'd say you're probably right. But I don't see that as a bad thing. I extremely enjoyed COD4's online. (For Me) It ran smoothly and provided a great onine fps that I have put days of playtime into. WIth that said, I do think more maps, attachments options, game modes, etc would add to the gameplay. Yes more isn't always better, but more can be better.
