Hey everyone

looking around i found i have to forward some ports on the BT Home Hub 2 page

these are the ports i need to put in:

TCP:
  • 80
  • 443
  • 5223
UDP:
  • 3478
  • 3479
  • 3658

but there is a problem

this tells me the numbers and that it is TCP and UDP

but i need to know these things for each one

what is the:

Protocol

port range

translate to

triger protocol

trigger port

i have done it like this and this HAS NOT WORKED

so i need to know what parts i have entered wrong

it all looks right to me but it does not work, i also tried keeping all thetrigger protocols as TCP and UPD but no luck

what have i done wrong

Some of the local computer businesses can actually make them for you, but small computer stores seem nonexistant anymore.

thats true, also if you wana go the extra mile you can upgrade to fiber optic... i have been considering it but im not sure on how much difference it would make :(

yea thats the right one you just need to know what category you want, currently i would say the best category without going to fiber optics is a category 6. so the higher the category the better the line and the better the speed.

thats a category 5 so its just below cat6, its the same type of cable so you can use it on your ps3 also alot of companies are still using cat5 cables for their servers so its a very good choice of cable. but otherwise cat5 is the next best thing if you cant get a cat6 :)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professional-Network-Premium-Quality-Ethernet/dp/B002SQX7EK/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1301776443&sr=1-6

here is an example of cat6 if you wanted to see one, its a bit more expensive but it has faster speeds.
