Ahh, you have good taste in games. I was gonna suggest those, but yeah, FF 9 is pretty good. Also the Parasite Eve games you might want to check out. They're kind of a mix between FF and Resident Evil.
Xenogears is incredible if you want a good, deep story. It's definately one of my favourite RPGs since I first played it a year ago, and it has a great soundtrack as well. I would also recommend FFIX if you haven't played it yet, imo one of the best of the FF series.
I personally enjoy Wild Arms very much. Breath of Fire IV is worth what they're asking as well.

^^ I forgot about Breath of Fire 4. That's a nice little gem of a game if you're into old school RPG'S. Both those look really good... Although, I'm trying to limit my decision down to just one for right now... So I'm in a struggle to decide between Grandia Wild Arms BoF4
I'm gonna say "Final Fantasy VIII", actually. I know some have said FFIX here, but I like VIII best of the first ten games... After FFX, I kind of lost track of the series...
then again, after checking out xenogears, that game looks totally awesome too! Sounds like the story is pretty immaculate too! Hrm... decisions decisions...
