I don't do preorders unless there's a deal involved and the game is a guaranteed masterwork, like God of War 2 (which I preordered literally a week before release because there was a deal where you could get a demo disc....helped the waiting process).
I would never reserve Haze, never reserve Stranglehold, the Darkness, Lair, Heavenly Sword, ANY of that stuff, because each and every one of those games can be a flop (The Darkness was a little unsatisfactory, I read it has some frame drops and aliasing issues and that kills the experience in a lotta ways for me). It really is a scam to preorder, but not because they make you pay more (they sometimes give you discounts, otherwise it's the same price), because they lock you into a sale before you have any concrete information (read, reviews) about how good it's going to be.
And you DO NOT NEED to preorder any Playstation 3 games until maybe FFXIII, MGS4, and GT5. There simply aren't enough PS3 owners, and by that time there will be more games to go around. I walked into the store the day it released to pick up Rainbow Six and Ninja Gaiden without any problems whatsoever.
how much does it cost to preorder?dark_crisis4u2c
Nothing you just deposit money that will go towards the game you are buying. Its just to recieve conformation so game makers/stores know how much copies they will sell at launch.
Wow. There's no part of that long post that I agree with at all ^,^
Anyway, I'm probably going to preorder Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Devil May Cry 4 and then later down the line sometime in 2008I'll preorder Burnout Paradise,FF XIII, FF Versus XIIIand White Knight Story
why pre order when all the games are available the week after it's releasedlive4thepackers
i live on an island and dont have ready access to agames shop, so i pre order stuff online.

Lair, already paid in full.
For the previous post though, at Gamestop, it is fully refundable. So If I hear Lair is a bomb before I buy it, (which obviously I don't think will happen) I can get my money back or use it on something else.
Assassins Creed-5 bucks down on this. I have a feeling this will be the game of the year. I hope hotty Jade Raymond doesn't let me down.

At gamestop and Eb games you can switch games you put money down there anytime you want. No scam there. And dont tell people what they do and dont need to preorder. If you like a game and it has promise preorder it, buy it, rent it what ever.I don't do preorders unless there's a deal involved and the game is a guaranteed masterwork, like God of War 2 (which I preordered literally a week before release because there was a deal where you could get a demo disc....helped the waiting process).

There you go. I see I'm not alone in this gaming world. Good to see another true gamer, not fanboy out here :)
