Gamers are hard, fresh out the wrapper I KNOW everyone played the game non stop for at least 2 weeks. IIJuggaNottIIafraid not bud. i rented it, played it for two days, and took it back. there's a lot of people out there who like this type of game, but i'm not one of them. it had some good points, but as pointed out by another poster, the campiness of some of the earlier gta's is what made me like those.
I would give it a 9/10 which does by no means say it isn't great, but after you're done with the game..what then?
With San Andreas you had to at least defend your turf and you could always earn money, on GTA4 after you complete the game you don't really got that much stuff to do as in previous games.
I still believe the game is a 10. Gamers are hard, fresh out the wrapper I KNOW everyone played the game non stop for at least 2 weeks. Some missing sleep and taking time off work. NOW everyones saying that I shouldnt be rated that high. The game is one of the best nextgen titles period. I only stopped playing it because I want to see what the download content will be....if its anything like Mass Effect, you have to start the game over to complete the additional missions. GTA4 is a bit tooooo long for me to start over like that...so I stopped when I felt the game was about to end. Actually a friend told me I was about to end it, so I stopped. IIJuggaNottIIi'm feelin u man.. and it deserves a 9.1
7, if i would listen to hype prolly be lower. just the options in story kill this guy or dont had no effect on the game that was a downer, and a bunch of little things like that really made me not love this game like every else seems to, online eh!DorkiieTimmy
How bout the alternate endings?
i'll give it 7.5 rating, only because of bad gameplay, bad control, lots of bugs, bad audio sound, bad graphic's, bad online, bad mission, bad free roam, bad city, and the only good thing about the game is physic and story,i still like the game but hate it when compare it to Burnout.jojo198
wow....just wow....did you even play the game? It definately has great graphics, great missions and free roam, great city.
9/10 for me with SA getting a 9.5/10. SA's story was better and I loved how it went along very well, I didn't like how they burnt your apt down twice in GTA IV. Also, SA had some jokes missions thrown in as well as some awesome ones like robbing a bank and stuff.
i wud give it a 9 even though i think it deserves a 10. the reason being is they took away some of the rpg elements that i kind of enjoyed. driving(cars/helicopters etc...) is still single handedly the most frustrating thing to do in this game. and i kind of liked not having a cell phone...sometimes these pricks bug.the route i took gave a nice twist for the ending boss...but i'm not sure they should have had that choice...
but the missions are more enjoyable. characters are super funny.the city is amazing. feels more real. its the most polished gta yet
Probably an 8.5
I haven't finished, but from what I've played it's an 8.5 or something along those lines.
I gave it a 9...
What held it back from San Andreas (which I would give a 10), was the story and the characters. Personally I think the story and the characters were more engaging in San Andreas. Also, in GTA 4, it was all city. In SA you had city, farms, and even deserts. I liked the mixture, instead of all city in GTA 4.
Otherwise, GTA 4 was better in almost every way.
it really depends on how you define a review score. if it's a product assessment or a buying recommendation.
in either case, I'd give it around a 7.5 to 8. it was a 20 hour game buried under an extra 20 hours of repetition.

Yes i have played it, yeah its pretty good if u not compare it to other games at least, u better play alot of games to know that this game is so horrible compare to others!!
Now I would give it a soild 9, and personally where with SA at first intrested me and got me hyped i thought SA was actually the worse GTA game out of the lot (Yeah everyone is going to hate me now) however I really have enjoyed GTA 4 more than any GTA game released.alstevens83
No dude, I love you. I agree completely that GTA:SA was TOO much. I mean, Vice City had a good balance. But GTA:IV, they just corrected the formula. And there are no horse shoes to collect in order to get 100% for the game, so that's good. GTA:SA had alot of activities (I would like a plane in future GTAs) but other than that, people overlooked the washed out graphics, the horrible cars, the dumb AI, the horrible character design and the huge empty spaces. It's like in GTA:SA, it was BIG...but full of forests and deserts, that's **** and some places, don't even have pedestrians and such!
I gave it a 10, the same thing I gave MGS 4, both games was hyped up mostly from fans and media but MGS 4 was actually hyped more from Konami or Kojima than GTA. Still these games delivered on a lot of the quality interactive entertainment expected, most people should fault themselves for thinking GTA would be the second coming of Jesus, MGS 4 had many faults but fanboys wont allow themselves to see it.
If GTA was a exclusive for any platform ( take your pick ) the fanboy of said console would take back their comments and say its the greatest game ever, example MGS 4.
