I am planning on getting a game soon but i havent decided yet. Any recommendations?

I have Resistance, Oblivion, Fight Night Round 3, and NBA 2K7.

If you like baseball give MLB 07' The Show a shot. Itsvery fun for a baseball game.

just wait a week and a few days and get Rainbow 6: Vegas

alot of people are claiming that they are picking it up so the online should be a blast

I would say you wait for metal gear solid 4 and/or final fantasy XIII. At least they are the main driving force for me to get the ps3.(or ninja gaiden sigma)

Rainbow 6 is the newest one coming out that has a lot of hype behind it. I will probably get it. The other I'm interested in is Call of Duty 4, Socom Confrontation, and Brothers in arms hells highway.

Just wait for the Darkness to come out, you won't be dissapointed. Check out the first video of it on scea.com, completely sells the game for any doubters.
