1. XIM 360 This is a devise used to play any game on ps3 with a mouse and keyboard, there are many devise like this (fragfx, xfps, ect.) , but xim is the only one that can be tweaked to feel exaclty like a PC game (im a pc gamer as well) playing killzone 2 with a mouse, people say is cheating, but i dont agree around 70$

OR

2. Surround Sound5.1 is my budget and if i do buy one, ill buy a desent one for about 150$, im hopiung for 100$ but they are expensive!!

Ive heard that surround sound is great, but how great is it with fps games? does anyone use it? i love to play fps like KZ2,!! please help (i have a 42in HDTV)

Anyone buy some accersory that was really good with shooters?

Surround sound.I see no point in using a Mouse and Keyboard on the PS3 unless you are typing.I am not to fond of either of the choices.I had the speakers around the room so I could hear it like a theater, but I don't blast the sound like I am deaf.I have a USB keyboard for my PS3,but it is for typing only.In the end it is up to you.

Considering the input lag with the crosshair, playing with a mouse will be a pain in the ass.

But once you get used to it, yes, it will probably cheating.

Yeah thats true. I cheated. Our family just had like a ten-year old crt 32in television and I went and bought a PS3. Then my dad couldn't stand watching DVDs when we had a blu-ray player - so he got a HD television. And he couldn't stand watching blu-ray when it was possible to have 5.1 dolby sound or something.

Your going to spend $150 on a sound system......

Good lord don't bother. If your going to get a system don't be cheap, you get what you pay for.

For me, i spent $850 on my tv 2 years ago, and over time ive bought a sound system worth around $2000

Sound is what matters.

Guy, take your brag meter down a bit. If this is what his price range is don't shut him down with your "I paid $2000 for mines & anything less is cheap". Come on with that crap. Look Tc, buy what's in your price range & don't go too expensive man if you can't do it. Do what's in your good judgement not what's in someone else's.

a perfect compliment for killzone 2 would be a bottle of rum and a bottle coke. then the surround sound but seriously spend more than $200 you want one that has optical in/outs as well as component in/outs and HDMI's. its worth it.

Trust me dude this is what you do.Spend the 100-150 bucks on the speakers.Think of it this way.It will be a step up from what you have anyway right? So either way you will be happy with the end results. Then one day when you get more money then you can upgrade. But for now I just say be happy with the "Cheap" speakers, that us regular people have to buy but still end up being happy with.

why not bother if that's only his budget... nothing wrong with that... people can get a great sound system without spending $2,000.

That's just stupid. What's in the demo is obviously not in the full game. It's an old version of that level; many things have been changed. If you've read anything about the people with KZ2 you'll know that they've found new sound, visuals and gameplay differences in the actual game.

First, im not bragging, im just saying the sound should be more of a priority than a big tv imo ( he states he has a 42 HDTV, which is bigger than mine.)

And yeah, its worth it. Ive got a klipsch system, and one of their cheaper ones at that. Their premier model is near $100, 000 if im correct. I agree anywhere near that is ridiculous. And honestly, save a little while longer maybe buy a Reciever that goes on sale for say $150, Then wait till good quality but fairly cheap speakers go on sale too. The bottom line but still great quality Klipsch Quintet II 5.0 system (without subwoofer) is $200 at my local best buy right now. Buy a sub for another $150 bucks and you've got yourself something that will last a very long time, and will be great sounding.

for sure u should get the XIM 360(or watever its called) im gonna get teh one that nyko made, so i can use my 360 controller on the ps3. i luv the 460 controller its so comfotable lol. but yeah mouse and keyboard is way better than surround sound, im pretty sure most of the ppl here are telling u to get surround sound is because they dont want to verse people like you using keyboards, cause they know they are gonna get owned lol. so i would get the mouse and keyboard adapter.

Why bother playing a fps console game with keybaord and mouse? It kills the experience.

Get the surround sound.

Honestly, get the surround sound! I mean not only will it be great when you're playing Killzone 2 or any other games but it'll be freaking awesome when you watch blu-ray movies! Just play the game with the Dualshock 3 & master it. You can also just plug in your keyboard & mouse from your PC also as a last resort, if you really want to play with a keyboard & mouse.

Yes, I believe it makes a difference but I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference. You gotta have a balance of everything. For example, if you have a 42" widescreen HD-TV but if you're using the speakers from the TV you're not gonna be immersed in the sound/environment, it'll just be a blend experience.

Imagine going to the movie theatre, everything is usually balanced really well so you get the feeling that you're "part of/in" the movie.

Same effect but in your own living room. Do you wanna immerse yourself in the game or just have a mediocre session of gameplay? Also look at it from this point of view, you spent $400 to $600 for a gaming console. Don't you want to get the most out of it? You don't have spend tons of money for a good surround system. Just figure out what your budget is & do some research. Find a system within that price range & you're good to go.

Surround sound is to audio as HD is to video. I can't imagine playing games in the HD era without both. But then that pretty much sums up the wii, but whatever. If you haven't experienced surround sound before, my question is why?
