1. Resistance and Motorstorm. If you buy it in september you'll also have Lair, Warhawk, and Heavenly Sword to pick up. And if you like Ninja Gaiden, Sigma is out already so pick that up to.
2. If you have a ps2 memory card and plan on playing alot of PS2 games on ur PS3, u might wanna pick up the memory card reader for PS2 memory cards, that'll just ease things up a whole lot.
3. The online is 100% free, the only things you have to pay for online are some of the downloadable games, which have a fee. None of the downloadable games are over $10 and you'll get to play any PS3 game that has an online multiplayer component completely free.

2) Well if you have an HDTV, then i would say buy either hdmi or component cables for the best resolution and picture. You may want to also consider buying a 10ft usb cable for charging your controller as the cable they give is very short and this way you can properly play while charging the six axis. Otherwise, for now there is not much else you would need unless you want a headset or an extra controller.

2. well readin the other msgs i think u get the picture....hdmi cables if u have n hdtv or blue ray remote if u wanna watch movies the rite way
3. online is completely free....n im not sure about the virtual world "Home" similar to "second life" ...is out yet but if it is then its a must have
