I just  got my PS3 about 10 hours ago, and right when I got home,  I turned it on been playing Call of Duty 3 for about 7 hours straight. Then out of no where, the system shuts off, no idea why, no  warning it just turns off. Can anyone help?

never heard of that happening to anyone...even on these boards. Sounds more like a problem that would occur on another system.

I heard that COD 3 for the PS3 had a million bugs, causing it to freeze routinely. It's not unusual.

The TC Only played 7 hours of gaming and the ps3 had to shut itself off to cool down? A bit short isn't it.

If it isn't the over heating the cell, do you think a fuse might have gone bad?

Take it back to the store.  Exchange it for one that does turn on.

You guys are confusing the heck out of me, some of you are saying it is just over heating. Others are saying I should just take it back and get one that turns on.

Is it possible that a fuse went bad?

You can wait a few hours or until tomorrow to see if works again. If it doesn't then the problem is obviously something other than overheating.

Fuse maybe. Overheat probably. Dude, don't play for 7 hours straight.. don't do anything for 7 hours straight, it's bad karma.
