Ok, I'm sick and tired of hearing about how SIXAXIS controls are tacked on and how they are not responsive and blah, blah, blah. Some kinds of games just WON'T work well with SIXAXIS. On that note...let's talk a little bit about the pros of SIXAXIS since we are stuck with it. I for one am VERY EXCITED about the game Lair. Why? Because you ride a friggin dragon and lay waste to everything in your path. In addition, this game is created by the same dudes at Factor 5 who made the Rogue Squadron games. Hmmmm...lets see. X-Wings or Dragons? I'll the dragon any day of the week. You control the dragon via SIXAXIS. Is it just me or does this seem to make a LOT of sense? Other games that will incorporate these kinds of controls are Warhawk and Ace Combat (Oh baby, I can't wait for Ace Combat in HD with SIXAXIS) Other situations that might be useful for SIXAXIS. Hiding behind a wall in Metal Gear Solid 4. Just push the controller forward and Snake will lean up against the wall. Let's have a pro-active conversation on features and games that can use SIXAXIS controls in a positive way. Because whether you like it or not, we're stuck with it so we might as well do something productive with it.

I think because no launch titles use it well.

the godfather: dons edition uses the sixaxis to throw ppl aroubd, for instance use circle to grb then move around remote to throw.

Ign said it felt just like the wiimote version of the game

I think it is funny as hell when you use it to butt someone with the rifle in COD.  It works great for blazing angles and I also enjoy shaking it when on fire in R-FOM.  Definitely brings something original to each game.

I think the concept of the SIXAXIS controller is very innovative, but the game that I have (Need for Speed Carbon) doesn't utilize it as much as I would like. I can't wait for Lair.

I think every FPS should use what COD 3 did, use it for bashing. I find myself trying to bash people in resistance with my controller and say "damn wrong game". It brings you into the action more.

I definatly like how it will be used in Lair, if they get it right it will own.

Here's a very simple idea. How about the SIXAXIS controls are used to do nominal things like changing weapons in real-time? It doesn't seem very revolutionary, but it really could make a HUGE difference. Wouldn't it be cool if in RE5, the main character could grab the gun on his right holster by tilting the controller to the right? Grab the one on the left by tilting the controller to the left? Reload their gun by tilting it back? Wouldn't that be a whole lot easier than having to pause the game and search for your weapon AND then have to equip it? Imagine how cool it would be if they let you map out your weapons to different SIXAXIS controls for Oblivion? For those who have played Oblivion on the 360, they understand that the Hot Key System mapped out to the D-Pad is NOT responsive. How many times did you accidentally equip a bow instead of your shield in the middle of battle? C'mon guys, try and come up with some ideas....useful, practical ideas that game designers can use.

I just read the Gamespot article on Super Rub-A-Dub. VERY COOL I think. Mr. Phil Harrison is the most legit Sony exec in my own honest opinion. The guy doesn't go around and say stupid things. He just lets his work do the talking for him. When you look at his record, it's sterling to say the least. I can completely understand why he's quietly confident. He almost has a smug look on his face while talking to Hilary Goldstein of IGN when talking about the future of the game industry. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/763/763939p1.html SIXAXIS was a trade off from Rumble. Some gamers are just going through Rumble withdrawal. I'm sure they'll eventually release a controller with rumble in it for PS3. My big fault with SIXAXIS is that the controls don't seem very responsive. Try playing the Motorstorm demo with SIXAXIS controls if you don't believe me. I also think that most SIXAXIS controls are pretty crappy because developers haven't had much time to work with them. Super-Rub-A-Dub was developed from the ground up as a demo for the SIXAXIS controls. I'm very excited about playing around with this game because it looks so promising. Finally...some original content. Something, Phil Harrison and Sony have made a LOT of money out of.
