You sound like my grandfather. No, it doesn't put lines on your TV, this isn't 1992 or something, get with the times. You can't get burn ins on LCDs because there isn't a big old CRT gun in there.

I've got 3000 on my Samsung and its not bad.

I got a 26" several weeks back, just large enough for a small room. Then on black friday, my bro picked up 2 46" Sharps with 1080p and Planet Earth. Fricking awesome.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (Turkey day!), where most major retailers offer huge savings and deals to try to assess their profit they may make for the holidays. Or to just get rid of their old stock. HDTV deals were pretty much the highlight of most electronic stores this year.

honestly i would try a tv a little bigger if you can get a bestbuy credit card or circuitcity then i would put it all on the card and gradually pay it off because on most big purchases u wont have interest rate(WoW i sould like a card seller) but that is what i did whith my sonyxbr3 and could not be happier with my decision. Samsung or sony are the better ones not sure about the Aquios they look like good tv but yeah cntrast ratio is what you need also 1080p is better but 720 is ok. Go to bestbuy.com and just compare tv if you want. that is what i did but i have done my research for the best tv for my ps3 so much to look for. and dont go ask what is better tv at a store do the research because they just want to sell a tv hope my rant helps. Make a wise decision.

PLaying a lot of games burns images on Plasmas. But that would be plasma you are dealing with. LCDs dont have that problem

I bought the older model a year ago and it's still pretty damn good MY TV and ain't it a biatch, the price difference between yours and mine is about $50 now. I don't have the glossy screen on mine but considering the light source in my room, that might be a good thing. The side speakers is better than my downward firing speakers though.

In regards to the OP, buy the most expensive TV you can afford. Its that simple.

acctually the difference ain't just the shiny screen this tv has 5,000 more contract ratio and also more stronger processing power, and that ain't the price i got mine at in the end it cost $1,970 after tax and shipping. also i have 5.1 speakers so i don't plan on using the tv's speakers. I'm wanting to get a 7.1 set of speakers... i was looking at the new onkyo set

oh yeah and onto the plasma burn issue... yes Plasma's do get burn ins, but after 100 hours of use the plasma is warn in enough to handle burn ins and if you get a burn in on a plasma gradually the plasma fixes all burn ins... but for me i'm getting a LCD
