I've been playing for almost 19 years, have 452 games (according to GS's counter), and I still have every system I've ever gotten. Yeah... lol.

Casual, I only buy the good stuff and only ever really play on normal difficulty. I wouldn't consider myself a fantastic gamer and only play for maybe an hour or two, not quite daily but around 6 days a week. I don't like fps's but I'm into action 3rd person stuff. Adventure games mostly, some sports and stuff.

Dude, that's hardcore. I'm kinda in the same boat, but nowhere near as many games. Been playing for about 20 years now (I'm 26), started off with and moved on from NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, Playstation, Sega Dreamcast (what a waste), PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PS3, and Xbox 360. I actually still have an old NES sitting around somehwere, still have my SNES, PS2, Gamecube, and obviously the PS3 and 360. I love multiple genre's of games, RPG, Action/Adventure, Hack n slash, FPS, TPS, Sports (well, baseball only), Stealth/Action. I guess I shouldn't label myself as hardcore since that kinda carries a negative stigma. I play about 10 hours a week and I never go ballz out and play the hard difficulty right away, usually never.

I didn't think that playing M or 18 games as they're called in this part of the world made you hardcore:?. Surely it's more to do with your ability when playing. I play the type of games that you mentioned but I wouldn't considor myself hardcore at all. I've also being playing since 1982 I don't think that qualifies me either!!

Not really hardcore, I play a lot of games, and keep track of developers etc. But I only ever really play on normal modes, don't bother with bonuses (cept gta) and tend to lean towards Fps to heavily.

Avg I would say. It takes me longer to get the hang of games compared to a lot of people, but I do spend quite a bit of time playing. Don't really like online that much and mainly play shooters.

I am a FPS gamer that also likes other genre. Oh and "M" rated games don't have a play in what type of gamer you are, sorry. It is how often you play, and how much you let it control your life and stop you from doing other things. Like do you miss work to play games some times? Thats pretty hardcore to me. Or not holding a job at all because you game to much, or you have a job as a gamer. Things like that are what makes a hardcore gamer to me. I love Resident Evil, but I don't feel hardcore because of it.

Definitely hardcore. I purposely choose to play the hardest difficulty possible in each game and repeat if a later one becomes unlocked. I also play games on average 8 hours every day.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself that well. I've been playing video games for 17 years straight and still going strong. Mostly when I play games, I start on the hard difficulty and work my way up. I play games for about 6-15 hours for about a day depending on whether or not I have to go to work or college. That's where I consider myself a hardcore gamer.

Definitly Hardcore. I play alot of games, and some games that few other people know about because they don't get alot of hype. Also, I'm hella good at almost any videogame I play, especially Guilty Gear, Armored Core, Resident Evil, and almost any game you can think of, exception of cr@qqy games that I don't play.

Average I would say. I have a reasonably large game collection and play for about an hour or two every day. I do play some more obscure games though (mainly Survival Horrors, though that genre has had an increase in popularity again recently). I try to stay away from some of the more casual genres like Sport and Racing, I hardly ever play online and I never usually play above Normal difficulty.

I am the type of gamer that can enjoy a M rated shooter just as much as a cartoony game like Hot Shots Golf. I am also the type of gamer that prefers arcade and console gaming to gaming on computer. I've been gaming on consoles since the Atari 2600, I've been playing arcade games since Space Invaders/Pinball. I usually end up buying every single console of each generation, but usually settle on 1, this generation it's the PS3, last it was the GameCube. I'll import games from Japan just to see how they are, then I'll buy the English version when it is released. For me gaming has been my primary source of relaxion for close to 3 decades. I guess I just love video games. I've got no idea what kind of gamer I am, I guess I'm just a "gamer"?

Thank You. Your're right, playing rated M titles doesn't make you a hardcore gamer, but how long you play games really does. I'm also interested in titles like Littlebigplanet and Hot Shots Golf, but want to play them with the hardest difficulty for the A.I. on Hot Shots Golf and for Littlebigplanet, a lot of custom parts of creating your own level.

Umm...I buy game soundtracks.

I defend/bash games.

I don't buy Madden every year.

I'm up to date.

I only buy the best of the best...and original/innovative games.

What am I? :D

I'm semi-hardcore.

Does that count? xD

But I don't sit for hours in front of my system anymore. I play when I have free time on my hands and there's no schoolwork to deal with.

what is the definition of hardcore... my interpretation of it is what kind of games you are playing. if you play a lot of JRPG, RTS, and some MMORPG's that classifies as hardcore IMO... the only games that i play in those catagories are Final Fantasy, Total War Series, Starcraft, and Myth: Total Codex (Bungie's best game hands down).... so i would classify myself as a semi hardcore player

In terms of genre I'd say hardcore-ish. I like MMO's and FPS'. When it comes to MMO's (like GW) rating for me doesnt matter, but for FPS's, I like the added violence buahahahahaaha!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if it has a title, but I'm more of an intricate gamer..never been to hot on all the FPS's out there..unless they got depth besides just running, shooting, capturing a flag. I do like RPG's but only if the Story gets great ratings. I like zany stuff (Pain for instance). Games with a sense of humor. Outside the box type gameplay (not meaning Wii as in the controller) I mean, having to do things that don't fall under a certain template. I loved the last Hitman game. I guess Im in a minority but I loved Assassin's Creed. I only like Racing games if they are in a wide open city type setting (NFS Underground 2 and Burnout Paradise come to mind). And of course, I love the GTA stuff.

On the PC, I'm into strategy games. Currently playing a lot of Sins of a Solar Empire. On consoles I like sports games...Really digging 'The Show 08' at the monent... SO I guess I'm a meat and potatoes man!.
