I've been teetering on the idea of an 80GB PS3, but was wondering what video cable comes with it. Is it composite, component, or HDMI? If there is no HDMI cable in the box, do I need to buy any specific HDMI cable, or just one that can do 1080p properly? (I have a 42" 1080p television). Thanks. I kind of do not want to do this unless I can get 1080p right from the get-go because of the Blu-Ray player.
The cables in the box are the red, white, & yellow composite cables. I'm pretty sure any HDMI cable you decide to buy will be fine. Check out www.monoprice.com for some good deals.
Same with me. I got the 80gb and I was like WTF mate! Even the $300 360 comes with component cables, and those worked pretty good on my TV, outputting in HD and such. But as far as HDMI go, I ordered one off of amazon, and you can get them off of there for uber cheap. I'm pretty sure HDMI cables are univarsal, 'cause I just swap mine back and forth between systems. Also, there are different versions of HDMI out, I think 1.3a is the newest, so make sure you get those. They're cheap, the shipping times are the only issue, and having to wait a week to see my PS3 game in HD was maddening at first.
