The only time I get blinded these days is when I convince the Mrs to remove her clothes....(which is rare!).
Sure I was excited to get my PS3, but it didn't give me a boner or anything (whereas the above might...)

well, it happened and it was a great feeling, blinded as in taking a while to digest the look of the awesome hardware in front of me.

I've never felt like that over anything other then when I was 5 on Christmas morning. The PS3 is not that good looking to look at and oculd have been designed better.
@thegame1980,
It looks pretty good to me when placed vertical and shiny also.
ya, some people dont like its looks. but, i think the controller could have been designed better. that controller they showed during E3, which was like a boomerang!!! was totally cool :)
[QUOTE="Scianix-Black"]I was mildly pissed off.kar008
why? :(
Sony managed to build a maze of cardboard around the PS3 inside the box.
It's ridiculous.
I had to use my head to think about how to get it out.
Not fun.
At first I was planning on selling on ebay, but I thought about how I slept outside of Frys for 2 days and the fact it was a Playstation 3 w/ Blu-Ray player...
The price did hurt a bit ($1200 Bundle), but since my brother worked at Frys at the time he gave me full credit for all the games it came with, so I saved a bunch of money (Frys Credit) which I bought my 42" Samsung.
Overall I'm excited I made the right choice since it is a 60GB and that Ive always had a Playstation (B/C). :D So far Ive had some sweet experiences with it a la MGS4, Uncharted, Grand Turismo 5 Prologue, Resistance 1/2, SoCoM, Silent Hill, Madden 09, Oblivion.
Well, my first thought was "Good lord, how many **bleep**ing flaps am I going to have to release before I can access the contents of the box?"
Four, apparently.
Then it was "Damn that thing is huge."
Then, "Where's my HDMI cable? Oh, composite. Great, yeah, it's 1999 all right."
"Hmm, the USB cable is about four feet long. That's shorter than the cord for my Gamecube controllers."
I was impressed with the manual and the length of the Ethernet cable, although I just ended up using wireless. Also, once you get everything set up and updated it's fine.
And in its defense, in the unboxing I did not pull a "Jesus what on earth is that ridiculous power brick," a la 360. I guess whoever thought that thing was a good idea moved on to Sony and decided to put composite cables in the box.
Well, as I bought mine more or less at launch, I'd never actually seen one in person up until I opened the box. I have to say, I was mightily impressed by how aesthetically good/slick the thing looked....and then how much of a tank it was size/weight wise.Paladin_King
Ya some people dont like the looks though, i think its amazing looking the controller is just ok.

I was extremely excited! I couldn't wait to play Resistance & F1! I was nearly as excited as I was when I got my first Playstation for Xmas many years ago!
My wife opened the second one XD
My initial reaction was "Cool, now what?"
I've opened many new systems with excitement from the NES to the PS3 and my feeling was exactly the same after each one "Now what?" Cause tbh, it's not the system that gets me feeling all warm and fuzzy, it's the games when they come out, I mean sure it's something to behold considering how far gaming has come in the past 20 years, but feeling like your meat'n'two veg are going to fall off as soon as you see the thing is going too far over the edge ;)
i was so happy when i unboxed mine. it was even better because i got mine at christmas and didn't even realise that it was a ps3 under the wrapping paper it looked like the the present i bought my dad because they were the same size
