What was the First Console or PC you ever bought with your own money?

"MONEY" you worked for, my first job fresh out of highschool (****of 2002) was Toys R Us thats where I bought my beloved Black Game Cubefitted with the game boy advance player and my first 5 games were Super Mario Sunshine, Rogue Squadron, Resident Evil 0, Star Fox, and Wave Race. Later on I Also bought the gameboy connector to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Zelda 4 swords, and Wind Waker with my buddies. I also owned other consoles, but they were given to me as gifts. I Sold off my PS1 and Traded my PS2 but kept the games, gave away my Xbox (Republic Commando was my Halo for that console), gave away my N64, Super NES (big mistake), and Sega. I love my Game Cube so much I can't see myself partting from it, it has so much meaning and I had so much fun Playing with friends, playing games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Capcom Vs SNK, etc. Hopefully this console will always work on me as long as I live.

My PS3, before that i had an original Xbox, but i got that as a present.

The first console I purchased with money I had earned was the Atari Jaguar.

I bought Aliens vs. Predador, Cybermorph, and Kasumi Ninja to go along with it.

I left Toys R' Us a very happy, yet very poor young man.

The 1st Console i bought with my own money was a PS2 back in 2001. And the 1st computer i bought with my own money was back in, i can't remember. But i bought this SONY Vaio laptop i'm using now, in the Summer of 2011. But i got my 1st console back in 1993-94 which was a SMS II with Sonic the Hedgehog build-in the system. Followed by PS1 in 1995-96. But before that i played on my brothers Amiga, and my sisters Commodore 64 back in 1989-90 while i was 3-4 years old. So i practically grew up playing games. But yeah, answering the TC's question.. The first console i bought was a PS2 back in 2001. :P

None. My parents always managed to buy me the consoles, but all my games were bought with my own money.

The original NES. I remember going into the store in the mall, all brightly lit and happy, and walking out with my NES and a copy of Smash TV. :D

I've actually bought every console I've ever owned with my own money.

PS2 was the first, went all out and got the online-capable one, that was a waste :)

O and if we're counting handhelds then the Game Boy COlor would be my first, they only had purple left at the store when I went :(

NES was the first one I bought... the only system I didn't buy on my own was my colecovision cause that was a christmas gift when I was 4yrs old.

xbox 360...i bought it on ebay and got the rrod within 30 minutes so they let me send it back for a refund and i got a ps3

The first one I paid for (but didn't entirely work to earn) was my PS2. My ten-year-old self saved up every single penny he could from Christmas, birthday, doing odd jobs around the neighborhood like raking leaves, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow. After a little over a year I finally had enough. Glorious day walking into Toys R Us after finally convincing my mom I was worthy to buy it and mature enough for MGS2 (which is what I saved for).

As for my own, completely-worked for console, that was my 60 GB PS3. I knew it was coming, and I started saving everything from my first job. Got the console, Resistance: Fall of Man and a second Sixaxis. Oh the memories. ::nostalgic weeping::

The first console I ever bought was a Sega Saturn. I sold candy at my school for a few months to raise the money. I felt so rich, walking into Babbages (Guess Gamestop absorbed them) with a thick wad of bills and bought a Sega Saturn cash. Actually, I wanted a Playstation but they were forever sold out, so I bought a Saturn.
