Yeah that's true. I was thinking more on the lines of just the chronological series (Versus too). By the time Square is done there will be at least 20 FF VII spin-offs,
It is kind of unfortunate that the series will likely go out with a whimper instead of a bang just due to the corporate side of SE (and the games industry), with the last FF (if there is one) being its last because of poor sales instead of a decided end of the series.
I've been a FF fan since the snes days and haven't felt the anticipation for a new one since 9. I think they should make 13 the last one. They should tinker with different franchises and combat systems. FF has lost its luster, 11 & 12 did a great job of killing it for me.
Didn't the writer of FF leave Square-Enix and go with Mistwalker. I heard he wrote the FF's up to 16 and that was it. I guess we will see when 17 hits in 2030 and see how bad the story is.
I don't think story wise SE RPG's lately have been very good. I'm hoping Star Ocean doesn't fail.

Same as you for the anticipation, But I dont think 13 should be the Last. And i also think they should make some PS3 remakes of FFVI and FFVII with lots of new extras in them. It would be awesome
The thing is, Final Fantasy games are still delivering quality titles. Until that stops, I'm sure that people (like me) will continue buying them.hazelnutman
I'll be buying them too. I even bought XII, which was good except for Vaan and his obnoxious voice
I'd say they will keep making more for as long as Video Games are still being made and played. How is the fighting in FF13 gonna be. Will it be like 10, 12, or the fighting style of Rogue Galaxy.
