ok i have a broken 60 gig ps3. i was planning on sending it in to get it fixed. but a week or so ago a 3 year old i babysit stuck a movie into it. a burnt movie a friend let me barrow. or it might be one of the kids movies on the stand. i cant find the burnt movie anywhere and could only see that a dvd is stuck into my ps3. so i cant tell whats in there. can i take the top off my ps3 and get the movie out before sending it in? or do youthink sony wont turn me in if they find a burnt copy of a movie in there? im thinking they will since they have big stock in movies.

dont open the ps3 or sony might not fix it, better off risking leave the bootleg dvd in there, or maybe try to fish it out with something?

Yes, be wary sony will send the their head honchos your way when they find it! I've seen plenty of stories of this happening. If I were you I would try by best to get that DVD out!

On a more serious note you will void your warranty if you open up your PS3, so itd be best to just leave it in there. Well now that you broke it tough luck, you can try using a 3rd party repair company or sell the Ps3 on criagslist and use the money on a slim.

i couldnt tell. could only see the very end of the disk. just enuff to know a dvd was in there. i had a game in it when it died on me. but after a few weeks i plugged it all up and hit the eject button it did power on long enuff to spit that out before the yellow and red flashing light. but now it does nothing but beep. like if you try to eject a movie or game from it with out one being in the drive. i got a buddy who works at a pawn shop. gonna see if his brother will give me a ps3 in his pawnshop for my broken ps3 and 100 cash. thats pretty much only thing i can think of to do at this point

its not just about the warrenty, when you break the seal, there's a good chance sony wont fix it, because they'll say its been tampered with.

I mean on the CD itself, was there a name of the movie? I'm asking because when the Sony repair guys see a CD with no labeling I don't think they are going to try to see what's in it.

it had miss march written with a blue sharpie marker on the disc.. this also causes quitions. what if the blu ray drive is broke now too? will i have to pay another 150? because my ps3 was unplugged when the movie was put into it. it might have messed something up in there.

also. does anyone know the number to call sony. i would like to speak with them. i just seen it would cost me 150 bucks plus shipping both ways on playstation.com but never found a number to call on there. and since i dont have 150 to spend then i never bothered going back there to look.

goodnight, i`ll update this thread in the morning after i talk with my buddie. do you guys think its a good deal to give my 60 gig plus 100 cash for one of his ps3s. i know i`ll do it for any ps3 but the 40 gig. but im not sure if he would do it at all lol.

Look at one of those "PS3 fan test" videos on Youtube - I guess that's actually the way you eject a stuck disk. Assuming your PS3 isn't totally dead. It's a bad idea to do that fan test on regular basis, but only doing it once, on a PS3 that already needs to be sent in for repair, I guess it couldn't hurt.

What does it matter now!!? You broke the seal! Why did you do that!!? Once you break the seal, you can NOT get it fixed by Sony.
