[QUOTE="yoda4ps3"][QUOTE="violian"] Twice, partly because I'm a really happy 360-owner already and the idea of the PS3 being cheaply made is another justification for me to not spend money on another console. violian
The important parts of the console (CELL, HDD, AV ports) aren't cheaply made, just parts of the casing. And if you're 360 owner you should have no problems with cheap parts on the casing :p
Nothing is wearing out on my 360...looks just as it did when I first took it out of the box. I'm sure Sony is aware of the paint coming off as I'm sure they've done extensive testing before releasing the product. And it baffles me, being that Sony is really into aesthetics, yet would let something like this ship into the market. How much more does it cost to use higher quality paint that wouldn't rub off like a cheap "Made in China" toy that you get at the dollar store? I'm sure each PS3 doesn't require that much "chrome" paint. Or if Sony is too stingy, then I'd rather have my PS3 all black w/o any of the fancy cheap chrome paint. I love how my original PS2 looks. It's really minimalistic, and just looks good in any entertainment setting because of that. Well if you have saw a PS3 the metallic area is very small. Anyway it's not big deal, what matters more is the inside. The outside of your 360 looks like the first time cause it is a very old electronic look like box and doesn't have many details like the eject and power buttons light up feature plus no logo inscribe on it. Well at least the inside is better than other systems and it works perfectly plus i can watch Blue Rays, play online free and no need to pay $100.00 for Wi-Fi.
And yes you're right they should have made all black if this is going to happen even if it is a bit in the long run, i don't think a small metallic plastic of higher quality will cost them a lot.
