K, as the topic states, What's so great about Demon's Souls. I just don't get it? Can anyone explain the "awesomeness" about it and what kind of game it is, and maybe something about the story?

There are reviews such as Eurogamer's that have been out for quite a while.

Because it'll make you popular with the ladies. That, and some pretty solid gameplay mechanics.

you get to die when ur dead, and you get to repeat the process countless times, even on the same spot, and just as when you think you passed the most annoying part of the level, a rock falls on you. and repeat the process again, until u finally get to the boss who will kill you with two swings. and again. that kinda of difficulty is what makes the game addicting, like old school megaman.

Nothing. The game's difficulty is a serious hindrance to any sort of fun it could have offered. And it's not like you die from lack of skill either... The clunky, weighty nature of the game's animations often leaves you defenseless against the overpowered enemies.

That being said, the art direction is amazing and I feel that if I put enough time into it, I may overcome the difficulty with upgrades to my character. As it stands, the game has given me no reason to wade through the cluster-f that I feel stands in the way of any semblance of enjoyment.

I don't like things to be easy, where huge monsters practically fall on your sword and die. I prefer enimies that are actually dangerious.

Also this is why it's popular because it's a challenge, maybe the first really hard RPG for hardcore RPG players this gen.

That is the perfect way to describe it. Old school Megaman would beat the crap out of me over and over but i kept going back and trying again, same with Demon's Souls. I'm loving every minute of it too.

I've gotten my ass kicked on MegaMan so many times.

a little off topic but I never found any mega man game really hard. Not even when I was young. I still love those games.lol. Anyways if Demon's Souls is as hard as people are saying than I'm getting it.

the same day i decided to import the game, i read news about atlus going to publish the game in NA i watched many videos of the game and its hard like hell, like you die with 1 or 2 hits from bosses, and the online looks pretty sweet , day one purchase for me
