Isn't it just Grand Theft Auto in wild west? There is also such a big hype about Grand Thef Auto, but honestly even though it's a great and fun game but it gets boring pretty quick. Go here, do this, kill that, and repeat. Is this game just like Grand Theft Auto or more? I really want a great game to enjoy, but I do not want to buy another Grand Theft Auto. Thanks...

Well, as far as I know its Grand Theft Auto in the Wild West. I can't say if its any more or less exciting than GTA4 was, but it does follow the same mission-based format. I think the big hype is the fact that you can free-roam the wild west and be a noble sheriff like Wyatt Urpe or a dirty villian like Jesse James. To me that is more than enough reason to get this game.

Oh yea RDR is just like gta and hey Fallout 3 is the exact same thing as oblivion, oh and do not forget how Demon's Souls is just like Diablo 2.

I once heard someone say Oblivion is a copy cat of GTA:SA . (btw I sure do edit alot lol)

Fallout 3 and oblvion are VERY similar, but comparing demons souls to diablo is kinda odd. Both have similarites but anyone who has played both know there are BIG differences. Fallout 3 and oblvion feel the same in controls, have the same world setup, very similar graphics, and everything. Basically they switched it with guns its not that good like everyone says ;).

^^^^

The only thing F3 has in common with Oblivion is that Beth developed both of them, the controls are not really the same since one game uses guns and the other uses magic/sword and shield.

Different settings, character models, story, and even gameplay because of the vats. They are not the same -__-. They do have similarities I will agree but to say they are VERY similar is off the beaten path my majestic friend :). Oh and in one game you explore through repetitive caves and dungeons and in the other it's repetitive buildings and metro tunnels :D lol.

Oh yeah Naveed, the Demon's Souls thing is most odd indeed, one of my friends was saying DS is a rip off of Diablo 2. Demon's Souls sure does remind of Diablo 2 though and thats why I love it so much :).

lol i would say its more like diablo 1 as they are both darker and slower paced then diablo II, but yes I agree it has a similar feeling. I won't even get started on the MANY uncanny similarities in F3 to Oblivion ;).

I will be keeping an eye on RDR but I don't know if I will actually be getting it with games like LBP2, MoH, The Last Guardian, and others on the way.

Grand theft auto in the Wild west? They said the same thing tot fallout 3 "Oblivion with guns". Sure they "MIGHT" have some similar gameplay, but i really doubt it will be a "Been there done that"

I'll wait for few weeks after release and see some users opinion if it's something like GTA IV. One thing interest me though, I heard you've to tame a horse or donkey before you can ride it around. I mean what could possibly go wrong, a cowboy with donkey winning against many cowboy riding horse. Sounds fun to me :D

Why should I convince you? Either you want to play the game or you don't, doesn't make a bit of difference to me if you do or not. =P

I don't know to be honest. It looked pretty good, but not my taste. Then i saw the multiplayer trailer, they try to hide the fact that nobody will do what they're posse leader tells them to do. I might buy it, not sure.

I'm one of the people who are in the "don't give a crap about RDR" minority. Its setting doesn't appeal to me, the online is gonna be a restricted, smaller version of MMO's which I've played a lot of, and I really wasn't impressed with GTAIV. I can see the hype for people who get a kick out of the setting or are unused to the MMO mechanics of RDR's online, but personally, this probably won't even be a Greatest Hits purchase for me.

Agreed. It's not like there aren't enough videos right now to let you know everything about the game. You don't like it, so what and move on. You know no one is going to "convince" you.

At first, i'd agree with this, but i liked this game because my interest in the wild wild west is pretty big.

You do know you can easily look up the info on the game yourself? It's not our jobs to sell the game to you, in the end of the day, it's your money so make your own choice on the game.

Based on your first statement for your topic, it seems that you've made up your mind already that you don't like the game... so there's no need to convince you... need i say more?

here's a video... if ya still don't like it, well... just get another game, son...

I was also skeptical about RDR. But theres already a review out for it. They say its a better, cleaner gameplay mechanic from GTA4, the graphics are the best from Rockstar to date, and the open world is similar to Oblivion's with lots of side quests. This definitely got my attention but I've been disappointed from "hyped" and "anticipated" games this year, GoW3 and Demon's Souls being the top 2 this year. So I'll wait for some gameplay videos and read more reviews before I make my decision. I'm not trying to get screwed again, lol :o

Take the realism of GTA4. GTA4 was set in New York. NY is boring. San Andreas wasn't realistic, which made it fun. The Wild West is a fun setting. So while it's still realistic, it's actually fun this time. Also, free roam looks freaking brilliant, the controls have been touched up, etc.
